On my first morning in PEI, my travel friend said "let's go to the farmer's market" and I thought sure, those are fun. Families, music, food, crafts- this is a great market!
We found out way there and immediately made our way to the ATM as we realized we'd need to make a few purchases.

Focusing on food, we had to make tough choices. I picked up a cinnamon roll at JJ Stewart for later, and we got some food from other vendors- samosas, pierogies, etc.

A few hours later as we were somewhere on the other side of the island I pulled out the saved cinnamon roll, expecting it to be like any other cinnamon roll.
Instead, it was the most memorable cinnamon roll I've ever had.
Thick, dense, sweet but not too sweet, and flavorful- it was somewhere between a cinnamon roll, an American biscuit, and heaven.

We went to the market website to try to find out who the seller was and then tried to figure out if and where we could get more. But alas, we were only on the island for a few days. If you search for JJ Stewart, the current FB page has a....photo of the cinnamon rolls I'm referring to. Hopefully they're a regular at the JJ Stewart booth!

Lots of PEI produce vendors, artisans, authentic local instead of greenwashing of some farmers markets. Ready to eat food was also tempting and tasty. Popular! Hard to find a parking spot.

A very pleasant experience. When we visited (around 11:00 a.m. on a Saturday in early June) the market wasn’t too busy, smiles abounded, and there was a nice “community” feel.

There was reasonably broad range of local produce, crafts, and food stalls. We wished we had arrived hungry. Much of the food being prepared on site looked delicious. The grilled cheese with lobster was well worth the calories and the wild berry potato jam we took with us is delicious.

The market was within walking distance of where we were staying. We would be delighted to make it a regular morning stop for breakfast or lunch whenever it’s open.

I had visited Charlottetown this past summer from Moncton and visited the Love Charlie store located in peakes key and the farmers market. The man that was at the store was on his computer the entire times and didn't even look up to ask if I needed anything. So once I did get his attention I was there to pick up a piece that was made for me. He told me to go to the Farmers Market and was very rude about it which was a shame because everyone else in that area was very polite. Once I got to the market the owner was completely rude and said she never knew about any piece even though we had exchanged emails. She was completely unprofessional but since I had traveled that long to pick up the piece I decided instead to purchase one she had in stock. Once I got home, I tried it on with my attire for a wedding I was attending and the button and feathers fell off! I couldn't believe it. I emailed her right after to explain the situation and she was so rude in her reply and would not help or give a refund/exchange. I would not recommend anyone to purchase any "hand-made" products from them or deal with these unfit business owners. Horrible. - Susan

Was at the market buying vegetables for a large dinner. Came across the Organic stand just as you come through the main doors. I run a small stand at a market myself some seasons so I know that touching/feeling the produce and checking for ripeness is common, and encouraged, especially depending on the dish you're making. This lady's stand had cherry tomatoes which I lightly pressed for ripeness and was verbally scolded and told "they are all ripe" (they were not). I took my business elsewhere. I will be sure to tell my fellow chefs not to touch this vendor, quite literally!

Name is quite misleading as there was only about 4 vendors selling produce. Most were selling the typical handicrafts, cottage industry soaps etc. There were also lots of food vendors.

We arrived shortly after 9am..........so glad that we got there early. By the time we left there was a long line of cars pulling into the parking lot..but they had a lot of parking. We enjoyed looking at all of the shops! Great variety of items! I had a rhubarb bar that was awesome!!! I also was so happy to purchase a bag of peas in the pod....Yum! There were many wonderful organic items. My daughter was happy to purchase a painting from one of the vendors. We also purchased a needle felting kit. There were beautiful flower bouquets for sale. There was a Taco Farmers food stall with wonderful looking food....smelled so good. All of the vendors were fun to talk to.........something for everyone.

This is a small and quaint Farmers' Market. We make a point of going every Saturday and love to purchase produce and coffee here. If you feel up to it make a point of having breakfast and/or lunch here. You will find a vast array of international food kiosks as well as lots of great local seafood.

Other than produce, you can purchase knit and leather goods, pottery and jewelry, soap, balms, tinctures, flowers and plants.

There is a lovely, friendly warm ambiance as your stroll around marvelling at the booths and visiting with the vendors.

As a manager of another farmers market far far away from PEI I'm always interested in visiting when traveling. Love this market for its diverse offering especially prepared foods and the wonderfully diverse ethnic variations including Chinese, Lebanese, Mexican, Japanese, Indian and many more. The market is also well balanced with most produce categories represented! Love the sausage vendor, the salmon vendor, donuts, cheese and bread folks! Bring Wednesday and moving out of tourist season some booths were empty but a few additional were set up outside. I'd recommend visiting this market!!

The Farmers market is open Wednesday and Saturday. It was quite busy with tourists but equally with locals. Many homemade goodies.
