Poor / unclean place
Jul 2021
Considering this is THE city beach in Windsor, we would have expected some level of care and cleanliness. We were wrong - the beach is dirty - geese took over long ago and so the small sandy area is full of poop - 20-30 of them took to the water in front of us right in the so called ropped swimming area - fun to watch but definitely a draw back. Very small and crowded, badly kept - definitely not a destination.
Again, everything was surprisingly dirty considering it is a municipality ran place - they did have an army of city employed water safety personel - we counted 6 for the two 30 ft beaches - they took their time "cleaning" one dead fish washed out from the night before, and preparing their stay in the high chairs for about 30min - after which we left. while they were still preparing :) - young kids, definitely good summer employement :)

Small and crowded. Only place in city to access for swimming

WHY is this beach so small?! This is probably the best outdoor area in the entire city if you like water. Calling this a beach is misleading.

It is a small beach but hey a beach is a beach when you want sun and fun.
Their is a snack area.
The water isnt the cleanest.
They to have ropes where to swim and how far you are allowed to go to.
The park is pretty good for the kids.

Very Dirty Water
Jul 2018 • Friends
The water is very dirty. The beach is pretty small and they have buoys limiting how far you can go out and swim. But hey, at least we have a beach in this city.

Not too bad

For a city beach, we're lucky to have one. Just be sure to check the water quality before you go and stay within the swim bouys watching for the strong currents.

Topless Beach Right Next Door

In the summer you sometimes see topless sunbathing here, no trip to Europe needed. The western part of the beach is mostly used by families and there is a children's play land and washrooms. To the east, on the beach or on the grassy area of the park is where you sometimes see the topless women. And as an added bonus if you see one you likely will see more as they are often in pairs or groups. Of course this time of year its too cold but was a great place to take my dog for a walk and think back to last summer

Facing the Detroit River.... small and not a lot to do... unless you like sitting in the sun and baking! Nothing of great interest around to visit or see..... you are better off going to a public pool!

Family day at the beach
Jul 2017
We were visiting from England and wanted a beach close to accommodation. The parking was very convenient and the area was lovely. It was nice to have a grassed area also for those who didn't want to sit in the sand. There was also trees for shade. There are clean toilets available. Also a few of our party went paddle boarding. Great place to enjoy a picnic and relax. We also enjoyed Belle River beach which was about a 20 minute drive.
