About
A showground, fairground, carnival, concerts, horse show, farmyard, garden show, food hall, restaurants, and a fabulous Mardi Gras parade are all rolled into one for the Canadian National Exhibition, held in Toronto each year. For 18 amazing days leading up to and including Labor Day on the first Monday in September, about 1.5 million visitors flock to Canada’s largest fair, The Ex, in Exhibition Place by the shores of Lake Ontario. It's a far cry from its beginnings in 1879 to promote farming, industry, and arts as today the fair acts as a showcase for the nation. It is a fabulous annual tradition to head to the city for amazing, old-fashioned fun for all the family and, for many, it is seen as a celebration of the end of summer.

A vast exhibition, we spent the whole day there looking around all of the buildings and all of the outdoor parts. Tonnes to see and do for all the family. Good outdoor funfairs one for the children and one for more daring riders. Great fun day out.

    Fun experience!
We had a blast! We were visiting from NY and went on Food Products Day. Unfortunately we missed that part.. it was only until 2 pm. We stayed away in the daytime due to rain and arrived around 4. The website DID NOT mention anywhere that it was only until 2 pm and I tried to email and never got a response when I wanted to ask before traveling. So we missed the wheels and prizes. (We like that). The rides were fun but some lines got very long. The skyway line was UNBELIEVABLE toward the end of the night. I know people take it to get more toward the front of the midway but the line was halfway of the walk there so to us, it was worthless to stand around to wait when you are halfway there. Food truck selection was awesome, food product building was awesome. I wish the "arts and crafts and hobbies" was labeled a flea market b/c that is what it was. Vendors selling their crafts. I thought it would be a fun area for kids... arts n crafts. We missed some of the shows and inside exhibits but the kids had fun. Some games are priced well some are stupid expensive.

    A good day out
We'd never heard of the CNE though having been told about it by the locals decided to pay it a visit. It was a bit of trek from our hotel, though easy enough to get to via public transport (in our case we used the trams). As we went on a Monday our son got in for a reduced U13 rate, so it was relatively inexpensive. In terms of things to do it was pretty good, with a mixture of fairground rides, food stalls, trade exhibitions, a photography exhibition, bars, music stages and when we visited, the Canadian armed forces were there along with vehicles and equipment that kids and others could look at and handle. There was also a pricey Pink Floyd exhibition, which given the cost and our lack of interest we didn't bother with. All in all an interesting day out and there was plenty to keep us occupied for the entire day.

    Same Experience every Year
This is the first time after Covid that we returned to the CNE. It is our 7th time to be here on opening day. Time Flies, the CNE’s new Acrobatic and Skating Show returned after a long hiatus. Nothing has changed basically you see the same things every year. We usually come here for the food hall offerings. What's new? This year there is a Selfie hallway where you can take your selfies with replicas of the CNE famous attractions.

Don’t go, especially on a weekend like we did last weekend, because the crowding is totally crazy and the price of everything is totally outrageous!! You’ll line up for at least an hour for the same food you could have bought at home for much cheaper. Be prepared for $4 water and $8 for a cob of corn, and that’s the cheap stuff. The Food building is totally overcrowded with long line ups. Forget about finding a place to sit. anywhere. We went specifically to see Jersey Nights which was on at the midway stage but we didn’t even get to see the whole show because they told us to leave because we weren’t buying their overpriced drinks. This isn’t mentioned on the CNE list of events online. My husband has a serious spinal cord injury and can’t stand long. From what we could see you won’t even get near the rides. I’d advise that you save your money and go elsewhere. We wish we had.

Will not support anything related to CNE or theEx ever again. I used to be a big fan of them, ever since I know how they treated their customers from my own experience, no thank you. This summer, I had broken glasses from one of their employees changing the light tubes and splattered everywhere and went into my eyes. I contacted them, a month later they finally got back to me and promised they would reach out to me in a week. A week later, nothing of coz. I kept calling them, finally they picked up my call with an annoying tone and said they would send me something in mail. I received and it’s 4 passes of all day rides in 2020! That’s how jokes they treat their customers! No sorry, no nothing! Just 4 passes and want me to go away! So if you want to risk yourself and get hurt, then go. See attached pics as proof.

2022 here. Super-dogs was amazing but missing another half an hour as for the admission pricing was like was that inflation or inflated pricing? Products were only for the rich in mind, with over priced items after the entrance fee. I don't know if I'm going next year. There was no exciting changes as for computer video games. The children love them I guess, while I could do that at home with my friends too!

I am very concerned about the health and safety of all the people who attended CNE this year. I went to CNE on Aug. 27th. It's super crowded/packed! I don't know if they have some sort of regulation on the capacity of this event. But seriously, it's scary to see so many people gathered and packed like sardines in a can, even it's post-pandemic now.

Not gone to a cne in a 5 years
Lot of the buidling as close or sold tor other events like the old automoblie building
Got to see the retro video event area and just love the old games I use to play while
growing up and my friends with me also had fun. Wish they had more of it and other
events that get people remember their young days.
All in all this cne was ok, and if they have the retro video area again I will be back with my friends

Parking $40. Unlimited rides $55. or 22 tickets for $22. Large Corn dog $12. Mini donuts $7.50 doz. Coke machine $5. Lots of dopers smoking up out in public with zero enforcement. Not impressed with taking my grandchildren. Things need to be cleaned up before I go back. I bought 6 tickets and 5 ride passes and meals and drinks. Approx $400 day.

Really enjoyed the ride i got on since it was not too fast for me. I checked the weather and was glad to go on the best weather day. Did get there early and was able to enjoy the experience before the crowds got larger and was glad that i did. Did notice that the cost of even roasted corn was a bit much but did love the mini donuts and pub type foods and drinks, sorry I missed the dog show but hope to catch it next year.
