The rooms were terrific! I've been to a few escape games around Toronto, but I gotta say that this one was the most fun I had at. First we played the First Endeavour, which was a very cool game, I was surprised that the game had three rooms. All the other games I've been to had only one room per game. After we finished the First Endeavour, our group had so much fun we decided to play another game, which was the Hangover. If your looking for a fun day out, I definitely recommend checking out the Great Escape. 5 stars. We shall be back for the Da Vinci Code! :)

Was researching many escape rooms in Toronto and decided on the Great Escape which I'm glad I did! Did The First Endeavour which was really fun. The room was extremely well decorated compared to other escape rooms I have seen and been to. It was large which made things so much more enjoyable. The puzzles were well designed and logical. The owner knew when to give us hints when we needed it. Well worth the money. Will definitely return for the other rooms! :)

My friend and I tried the Hangover room - their easiest and most fun, as it was our first time trying an escape room. It was a bit challenging to get the ball rolling (escaping from the handcuffs!) but with a little bit of guidance from the owner, we were on our way and finished it in around 50 minutes! The interactions with props in the room as well as the logical connections required to progress through the room were really outstanding.

The owner was very nice and gave a great introduction to the room: back story and a few necessary pointers. He evidently paid great care to us over video cameras as we attempted our escape, as he often offered some tips/hints when he could tell we were stumped. I assume this was done because he knew we were beginners but if -- I mean when -- we return, I will probably ask to do it without unprompted hints.

The price was very fair and a discount is offered for liking them on Facebook (if you're a group of 4+) so check that out.

Overall, a great first experience and I can't wait to go again!

The place is definitely not good. We have been to the Thai prison escape last week, and we were deeply disappointed. A few times we had to call for help as we were not able to open the lock with the correct answer because there was no indication on the lock on how to align the numbers. The manager was supposed to go through this with us before the game, but she did not do this. Her excuse was that there were a few groups starting at he same time, and she just did not have enough time to brief us. Also, one time giving us help she said that she would not be available for us in case we need her in the next 10 min as she will be busy with another team. I am not aware of why she has noone else to help or brief players, provided they got paid by both teams. We wasted half of the time in the beginning with those few locks and her being unavailable and the whole fun was killed by the frustration. When we told her about this, she behaved very arrogantly and aggressive like we were unhappy for no reason.
The game itself is illogical to the extent that sometimes you need to input POTS when the correct answer is STOP (the other direction). There are three rooms and you need to go back and forth and you never know what code is for which lock - when you find a code you literally go and try it on all the available locks (without knowing how to align the answer on the lock, so virtually checking all possible combinations). This eats all your time and gives lots of frustration.
Result - the game would kill your day rather than make your day good...

We did this room the other day and did not enjoy it. We have all done several rooms before and none of us really enjoyed this one. There is no flow and you need to listen to the clues on the tv. In other rooms they watch you and respond right away. This time it took too long for them to respond when we were stuck. It had no flow to the clues at all.

My friend and I were in Toronto for 2 days after spending a week in vacation in Costa Rica. After some research i ended on the Great Escape website. Three rooms were available with 3 different story. As a fan of escape challenges and puzzle, we wanted to try this place. We look at the videos online and decided to take the room: The Hangover. In this Room you start the game being handcuff to a chair. What a nice way to begin!

We had 60 minutes to get out of the handcuff and go thru 3 different rooms. In that game you need to make association and think logically. After 8-10 minutes we figured how to get the handcuff away. Took us another 10 minutes after that to get the first room done.

After looking and thinking, my friend and I finished the game with 2 minutes to go! What a wonderful thing and accomplishment.

After the game we talked with the owner. He explains to us how he built the different games and what was his reasons to be in this business. The owner is an Amazing person.

If you want to have fun with your friend and family, or even with colleagues to do team building games, THIS is THE place to go!!!

Thank you so much for the opportunity. Thanks for this Great Escape.

Our family of five had a really great time, it's like playing detective. The best thing about The Great Escape is that you move between three rooms to finish and escape and don't just stay in one room the whole time like other room escape places. That really made a big difference. It felt like a true adventure. The clues were challenging but solvable. They really make you think. The owner was great and there to help if you need any clues. We will definitely be back to try the other rooms. SO much fun!!

What a great idea and well thought out concepts! The rooms were very authentic and very well put together which makes the experience so much more. I went with a group of friends and had a great time. Super easy to book online and a convenient location. Great to get out and do something completely different and unique. Can't wait to try the other rooms and see future concepts.

We were going to buy from Groupon, but I called to find out availability and they offered us the groupon rate directly, so we booked for the next day in the DaVinci Code escape room. We arrived, completed the waiver, and were briefed. The lecture about not moving props and paying for anything that broke was a bit much considering how cheap most of the “goodwill store” props were, and how much moving of props was necessary to find the clues. We called for a hint about 15 mins in and nobody came, so after trying multiple times over 10 mins, we went out and found them in the next room. They gave us 10 mins credit for that delay, which was fine. Then we kept going and found all clues in the first room, but could not find the key to the next room. Wasted another 15 mins trying to find it. We called for another hint and were told that we had lost the key...but they would open the door for us and give us 10 more minutes. 2 mins into the new room I found the key to open THAT room. It was on the other side of the locked door all along. A new employee had messed up the set up. At that point they offered us unlimited free hints because the next party had arrived. We were so fed up by that point, we got through most of the second room then had to leave. Given their lack of organization, I think we should have been offered a free repeat visit. It was a waste of time, bad customer service, and I would not recommend it, even with the groupon deal. Very disappointing!

I bought a groupon to take my son and his friends for his birthday. Nowhere in the groupon website or the groupon confirmation itself was it mentioned there were restrictions on dates or additional services. When we tried booking our visit, they came up with restrictions on days (weekends only), I couldn't reserve the party room either (any of these options were available for a hefty $100 fee). They didn't gave us any options, so we had to cancel our party and look for something else to do.
