From University Avenue west along Queen Street is known locally as Queen West, is the epitome of cool for shopping for those interested in boutique design, vintage furniture and clothing and an almost overwhelming number of amazing dining options.

There are hundreds of stores but here are a few favourites.

StyleGarage – Creative furniture and art spice up any space

Fluvog Shoes – Wander in to see their weird shoes and to see the Upside Down Room

Doc’s Motor Cycles – Don’t be scared off by the mannequin out front. It’s all leather on the main floor but wander upstairs to step into a museum of the most eclectic collection of everything from human skulls to melted telephones and an antique pinball machine (bring a few quarters).

Floorplay – Crazy socks; fun to look at, great to buy for yourself or a souvenir

Nadege – Imagine drinking a hot chocolate from the movie Chocolat with a handmade marshmallow or macaroon.

Fresh – The ultimate vegetarian and vegan foods.

Trinity Bellwoods Park – Commune with nature while you search for the White Squirrel to bring you luck.

The Drake Hotel - If you haven’t run out of energy, a few blocks further down for evening entertainment.

The Gladstone Hotel – Keep walking to see the operational Antique Elevator and enjoy the ever-changing art shows on each floor of the hotel – for free.

West Queen West is absolutely one of the coolest neighborhoods I have ever seen! This is a great neighborhood to walk the streets, see the shops, architecture & the art!

So often in major cities the big chains dominate the shops but here they are nearly all independent operators with a wide range of offerings in some great buildings interspersed with plenty of places to get something to eat and drink. Well worth a slow walk around.

I’ve been shopping on Queen St for over 20 years. If you stay on the west end, you get more unique stores and not as many chain stores. It’s just disappointing that a lot of the local/home grown stores are now gone. We can get chain stores at a mall, don’t need them here! However, I still do enjoy wandering and enjoying the snacks, shops & parks. Trinity-Bellwood Park is far west and a great park to walk through.

You can spend an entire day there literally. Start of at Queen and Dundas West head east.
If you are nostalgic you will love the antique shops . They are a coimplete blast from the past. It is hear when you take a walk down memory lane.
This is a great walk on a sunny day but you have to start early
From there you eventually will reach a park Bellwood Park. This is a great place for a picnic! You will find many people doing the same.. After being well rested you can continue on your journey.
When you arrive near Bathurst and Queen you will arrive at my personal favorite My personal favorite ." Graffiti Alley" Here you can see Torontos Great Culture while dodging in and out of many stores.. They day is yours!!! you can do what you want on your own timeline. But dont forget to stop for dinner :)

This area of Toronto has in recent years grown to be one of the more interesting areas to explore. The street is home to many unique shops, restaurants, bars and parks. It is a great place to spend a few hours walking and taking in all the surroundings. It is an older part of the city with many interesting buildings and places to explore. It is safe to walk there at any time without being overly hassled by pan handlers etc. Bring a wallet and a camera because the photo opts are plentiful and the chance for buying food or shopping won't disappoint.

Queen West used to be a dirty, rundown part of Toronto. Then the arts crowd moved in, renovated, opened art galleries, boutiques and restaurants - and drove the rents up. You can see it as an example of gentrification or as an area that now provides lots of jobs for people.

I enjoy art galleries, boutiques, and funky little restaurants, so this is my kind of neighbourhood. Perhaps others prefer corporate branded places like the Rogers Centre. As I said, love it or hate it. I'm a lover.

This is a must for boutique shops, new designs and excellent food, worth the walk or ride the trolley for the full length of Queen west experience, it is iconic Toronto and should always be on a city must do list even if only for a couple of hours

Every time we're in Toronto, we spend time on Queen Street West. Most recently, we ate in two of the many restaurants (Terroni, Fresh). My wife loves wandering and checking out all the trendy jewellery supply, fabric and fashion shops. Great street for people watching, as well.

There weren't many store that I thought there were, I thought there would be more clothing store or other store for that matter, it is mostly condos and restaurant, and the stores on the strip are a bit high in price. Its great during the spring and summer but other season no so much.
