- Anonymous8551,736 contributionsRelaxing adirondak chairs and fountainsWe went here to kill some time before a walking tour started and it proved to be a relaxing place to wait. The homeless are there early in the morning and then move elsewhere for the tourists to come in. All of the activity is fun to watch. Is it Times Square? Not quite but it was nice.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 26, 2023

It was busy, with shops open, lots of traffic and a great show called Africa Fashion Week! A spectacular show! This square is beautiful, lovely to walk around and great for photos.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 7, 2023

- Stewarts Vacation1,543 contributionsA popular hubThis neon lit, public space, akin to New York Times Square, was teeming with people! It's at the intersection of Yonge and Dundas Streets. Avoid the area if you do not like crowds! However, we enjoyed strolling through the area and experiencing the vibe. The space has been designed for hosting public events like community festivals, product launches, concerts and international celebrations.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 29, 2023
- Stefan OvertonColchester, United Kingdom231 contributionsTimes Square of TorontoAs many have mentioned, this is a smaller version of New York’s Times Square. Definitely worth a visit if this is your first time here and to take pictures and videos. A few homeless people around and also people people on loud speakers preaching which ruins the atmosphere a bit but there’s lots of stores here , cinema and Eaton Centre Shopping Mall.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 9, 2024
- Alex CCanberra, Australia43 contributionsStop by if you're in the areaAs many have said, a little version of times square. A lot of shops and restaurants around, but I wish I'd spent more time at other attractions, e.g. Royal Ontario Museum. Go if you have time but perhaps not a must see.Visited May 2024Traveled soloWritten May 4, 2024

- Travel Blog Anna Blunschi371 contributionslittle time squareThe Yonge-Dundas Square or just Dundas Square is a public square at the southest corner of the intersection of Yonge Street and Dundas Street East in Downtown. When I stood on this square, I was really overwhelmed by the huge advertising posters on the skyscrapers. I was there in the evening, but everything was very bright because of the neon signs. The place is not very beautiful, but what it is, it is totally alive. There is always something going on there.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 21, 2024

homeless, druggies, religious fanatics all occupy Yonge and Dundas. The "square" is pathetic. Just a bunch of metal chairs and sometimes some unknown artists perform. Cigarette smoke everywhere and now pot too. Bums everywhere. It's embarassing. I don't invite my family to visit it's so embarassing.

I'm so sad that Toronto's big touristic attraction is probably the worst place to go to. I literally panic every time I have to pass this area because of the overall scene. Way too many unfortunate homeless people, junkies, drugs, criminality, fights, LOUD, messy, dirty, stinks of weed, just not a pleasant environment at all. The city needs to do something about this, I literally avoid going out because I don't feel safe anymore. What's happening to TO?

Can't wait to leave downtown Toronto. Thankfully our day at Niagara kept us out for most of our second day and we leave tomorrow. It is clearly modelling itself on 1980's Times Square with street folk , some with clear acute mental health issues roaming freely. It smells like an open toilet and is filthy.
I will return to Canada but never here.
First time I have felt wary in a big city.
It's also near 2 hour drive from Niagara.
Thankfully we visited Niagara on the Lake which was stunning. Wish we could have stayed there.

Super cool place at the center of the city. Its very showy but a little like NY with some street trash, and I mean the people. Just watch you kids if you have any, and don't give anyone money. But its a cool busy center to see and I would recommend it.

It is like a compromised version of Times Square in New York , but with the same chaos and disorganised scenery. Billboards , digital screens , restaurants , theatres and movie houses. Look for access to underground PATH . It is on a winter storm when we visited , and weather was quite harsh .

Hola. Buen viaje y disfrutalo.
