Affectionately known as the Maddy, this is a popular Annex bar. The crowd, which includes many students from nearby U of T, fills every floor and terrace. The newest development is the billiard room, with 10 tables. Everyone in the friendly crowd seems to know everyone else.

Pretty nice place to drink, chat, dance and enjoy the night. Has a lost of different "attractions" like a dance floor with eletronic music, a calm rooftop to chat and drink, a busy but nice space with live music. Almost everybody there was students.

Nothing out of the ordinary , we got a table and the service was pretty slow , they have and okay price for a pub that big thou , the only thing we didn't like was one of the servers was almost forcing us to tip him at the end of the night , not that we weren't going to... More

Love the Patios. Great place in Toronto especially if the thought an overcrowded night club with a fat cover is unappealing. Good beer, fair enough prices. I'll be back.

I was pretty one of the oldest people in this bar as its a college bar. However, I was there to see my talented friend from highschool Peter Kadar play the keyboards. He rocked the house and had the crowd yelling out all kinds of requests. People are pretty friendly here, many walked up and chatted or sang along with... More

This is definitely the place to take a friend to chat, catch up over a pint to drink and also grab some food if you're not too full from the suds. I have only been here two or three times. All visits have all been during the summer warm months. I really like that this pub has a lot of... More

Went to this bar to watch my friend play keyboards on a Thursday night. Being ahem, over the college age we were worried that we would be the oldest people in the bar. However we soon found out that there were some older people there as well. However, it is mostly a college bar. We got there early to avoid... More

We stopped by this bar because we heard some people talk about it. To enter you go down a flight of stairs, there is a lounge atmosphere. There are four floors with 8 bars. The entire place is basically two houses connected and converted into a bar. Tons of people on Saturday night and the drinks were pretty decently priced... More

I was yesterday at the Bar, and I never will return. The bouncers are very violent without necessity. Threw a man pushed to the ground without even having done nothing and at closing time pushing and throwing people out acting like animals. Security is truculent and always act together. What kind of training they have for dealing with the public?

The Madison is the type of bar you go to to get lost. And literally you can. They have 3-4 floors, with a bar on each. You can eat and then explore. There is one room on the second floor which has a baby grand, and the piano man will play all the latest pop hits/classic faves in his piano-y... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
