This place is very cool for a casual drink, pub snack or a meal. We have been there many times, the craft beers are a real draw. The selection is decent, the service great and the open fire inviting. We were there for Saturday afternoon jazz recently, a real treat. I like the dark beers on tap.

Absolutely fabulous selection of local beer matched with great food. King Czech Pil and fish cakes my favourite. Great staff.

Place is big, well laid out, if you want a good beer or cider this is the place to come. Had a blood orange ciderbwhich was REALLY yummy. Went on my own but I'm sure with friends this is a great place to be, just lacked a little atmosphere for me.

Went here for a quick drink ended up staying until 1am. Great basement bar with a large selection of locally brewed beers. Good atmosphere and the food looked good although I didn't try any. Selection of board games to play also.

Went one afternoon and we were the only people there. It was kind of dank and dull. Might be better at night.

When exploring Toronto's pubs you might want to pay a visit to C'est What? which is very conveniently located in the city's downtown, although not among the skyscrapers. The main area is underground and is designed properly - nothing realy fancy but I liked it. They have a nice beer selection and some starters if you are a bit hungry.... More

Great beer, great food, great atmosphere.. what more could you ask for. I had walked past this place a few times and finally went in to check it out. I love this place so much. They have a great selection of craft beers on tap, The food is delicious and they have created a very warm and welcoming ambience.

Great selection of beer! Nice and cozy vibe to the bar. It's located downstairs so it would make a great winter bar. In the summer I enjoy patios and sunshine, not bring cooped up in a basement. Overall I would recommend this place to any beer lover!

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
