Went to see a performance of the above ballet last night and loved everything about it. The venue is stunning and the performance was wonderful. The costumes, the dancing and the beautiful music - outstanding. Especially loved one movement by the ladies of the court where they appeared to be going across the stage on wheels! They were actually dancing... More

The building is grand and impressive as befits its title. We saw the Nutcracker. Pretty good show but cramped, inaccessible seating detract from the experience. My nut was cracked by the end of it.

I am glad I saw the Nutcracker as it is a Christmas classic. I knew it was ballet and I wouldn't love it, however some constructive criticism for you: 1. Staff were very snobby and not good with customer service. For example, Usher dropped my program didn't say one word or offer to pick it up for me. 2. Very... More

The set was wonderful. The dancers gave their best. The costumes were superb. So why disappointed? It seems the Political Correctness Police have taken over the artistic direction of the National Ballet. One of the most enjoyable dances is the Oriental Dance which was excised I presume lest it offend anyone of Asian extract. Does this mean that next year... More

I saw "Romeo and Juliet" choreographed by Ratmansky. I enjoyed the ballet talk by Lindsey Fischer 45 minutes before the performance. He spoke about details of the representation of this classic tale by Ratmansky. He provided valuable insights to the performance. The ballet was moving. The performers well expressed the emotions of the dramatic scenes. What a moving tale! The... More

The Nutcracker. This is an annual treat for me that my darling A arranges. This was opening night and there was a change in the line up with a replacement for the principal male. I hope the original is OK, he had a nasty fall on stage on opening night last year. His understudy did well... not quite as well... More

If you fancy taking up a ballet experience elsewhere (from beginner to advanced level) it is definitely worth going to see. I could have only wished there was merchandise to buy- I'd have bought a t-shirt!

I saw Sleeping Beauty, it was very good, excellent costumes, beautiful sets and fabulous principal dancers, the others were not quite in sync but good.

Amazing show! I'm always so blown away by the talent at the ballet. The costumes and sets were great, the score was very well suited to the show, and the dancing was brilliant. The seating is also quite good, I think most of the seats at Four Seasons have a good view, including the standing room tickets (standing tickets can... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
