A unique building to show foreign visitors. Downside is that parking is not convenient.

The food was great in the pub -- as was the cold draft beer. Great variety on the menu. Nice atmosphere. Not much from the outside, but do go inside and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Flat iron building actually came before the one in NY! Lots of shopping nearby and close to St. Lawrence Market. Great place to take a picture, or stop by for a drink or something to eat at the Firkin in the basement.

Located right near St. Lawrence Market! Rated one of the best markets in the whole world. The flat iron building is unique.

It's got a nice butt out back and a nice sharp nose up front, but there's a for-lease sign that says it all. There's a bar, Flatiron & Firkin, but it's hard to tell if its in business as we were there in the morning. What a pity that this lovely landmark his just a shell. Nor is its entrance... More

There's a bigger one in New York... I took a couple of pictures and then moved on. Not much to see here.

This is a special piece of architecture reflecting early Toronto; it's just neat to look at, and even to go inside if possible.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
