Cute but walked right into some guy shooting up. Toronto is dirty as hell a lot of the time. Not children friendly as the area is full of homeless people.

Cloud Garden Closed for renovations until 2022
Nov 2018
I tried to visit the Cloud Garden yesterday. Both entrances were behind construction fences. Today I looked at their website and found out they closed for construction November 2018 and will reopen in 2022. I hope this saves someone a trip.

A unique park but I reccomend visiting in the daytime

I went here at lunch time on a weekday and there were a lot of office working enjoying their lunches; and I could see why because it is a cute green space with a massive waterfall feature. There is also a tropical greenhouse with a good collection of plants, but it is very hot in there. The Adelaide Centre is nearby with it's lunch market. It is a mini oasis in the Financial District.

Disappointing
Jun 2017 • Family
We were pretty disappointed with the Cloud Gardens. The place reeked of a combo of pot and pee, so much so that I couldn't tell if people were actively smoking inside or if it was just that the group of 4 men hanging out inside reeked. Not so great since I had my little kids with me. The flowers were pretty, but the smell was too distracting to enjoy them.

It is not really worth going out of the way for, but this small park is proof of Toronto's commitment to its green space, with this site being used as a park instead of cramming another building in. There is nothing really noteworthy, but it is better as part of a walk including the highlights of downtown Toronto.

Cute idea
Oct 2016 • Solo
The Cloud Gardens is a nice idea, I wanted to give this four stars but I couldn't quite justify it.
First, the negative; the outside portion looks a little unloved in places, and there was some litter (obviously, you can't control what other visitors do, but it does put a downer on the overall impression). Inside the conservatory is nicer, but some of the plants were wilting and dying out. This could be part of the cycle, but there wasn't anyone there to ask.
Now, the positive. The idea of this place is really quite cute and interesting. The inside is far better than the outside part in my view. It's small, but elavated up above street level with two entrances/exits - for children this would be a fun mini adventure. There's a good variety of plants and boards up with text explaining the concept of the garden. And what's more - its free!
The outside garden has a waterfall and places to sit and admire the city. Overall, worth a visit, and on a sunny day, a visit with a picnic.

The outdoor gardens were messy, to the point of gross. There was litter everywhere including cans, cups and chip bags floating in the waterfall pond. The waterfall water was highly chlorinated. And the smell of urine was strong in parts of the park. It's too bad, I bet it was a little urban oasis in its heyday.

disappointing
Dec 2015 • Couples
It's just a small glass-house with plants. I was expecting something much bigger so thats why I was disappointed. But it's in the middle of the center so if you are nearby, you can have a quick look. Really quick :)

Not a safe place to visit
Apr 2014 • Solo
Stumbled across this place while in the area. Although the artwork and water feature looked like it could be interesting, the needles on the floor and aggressive drunks in the area made me not hang around too long. When I walked by recently, there seemed to be barriers up, stopping access to some of the areas. It looks like they are trying to improve the area, which is good news.

A wonderful little gem of a park in the heart of the city. It's a lovely setting to enjoy your lunch outdoors.
