I am a die hard Cirque Du Soleil fan and have seen almost everyone of their shows several times. Needless to say as soon as I got notification that Amaluna was coming to Atlanta I purchased the tickets for the Tapis Rouge which is their VIP tent. To me it's the way to go. You get phenomenal seats, great food, wine, beer or champagne, a program and souvenir photos..
Amaluna is AMAZING! Some of the acts they incorporated are brand new, never-seen-before spectacles. All I will say is "balancing".....the music is great, the colors and stage set captivating. I was at the edge of my seat and the troupe received a standing ovation when it was over.
If Amaluna comes to your town do not miss it. You wont regret it. I will go again next month. It was THAT GOOD!

A great show. This is my 3rd Cirque show. Totem is still my favorite and "O" was my least favorite (it was good, just very different). Amaluna ranks up there with Totem. I just think the story wasn't as clear, and I agree with other reviewers about the clowns for the Amaluna performance. There was just too much of them but lizard man was great. Please be respectful and arrive prior to show start. Even though late arrivals are seated at the most appropriate intervals, it's still rude and a distraction.

Cirque du Soleil's Amaluna is the sixth traveling show I've had the pleasure to attend in the Houston area.
With the exception of my first experience, Alegria, this show like the other four was held at Sam Houston Race Park. Parking is $10 and guides will direct you to a specific location. As another reviewer has written, parking can be slow, so allow at least 45 minutes prior to the show to arrive and find suitable parking.
As with all of the other shows, the whimsical shapes of the tents ("The Grand Chapiteau") is the first thing one sees when entering the venue. Given that most of these shows have an essentially round stage, there are multiple entrances, or doors, to enter the tent. The specific door for your seating area is on the ticket, and by having multiple entrances, spectator flow into the venue is surprisingly easy. In my own experience, there are no "bad" seats in the Grand Chapiteau.
Amaluna is classic Cirque, in that the unique music and costumes lend a distinct flavor to each show. Character interaction with the audience is fun to watch.
My wife and I look forward to each Cirque show that comes to Houston, and this one did not disappoint us. We are already looking forward to the next show.

Booked a show for clients over a month in advance and had to change it to a show on the following day. Wrote emails, called very day, including the same day I booked the event, and there's never an answer from customer service, even when you register for a callback. Once you bought the tickets, good luck making any changes or contacting anyone. When you call, you can hit "1" to buy tickets or "2" to contact customer service. I have never been successful with option 2, so I tried option 1 thinking they may prioritize new sales. Could not get through on that line either and am on the phone as I write this, one hour an fourteen minutes on hold. I doubt if the phone line is even staffed. NON-EXISTANT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Close to $900 down the drain. Going to file a complaint with the better business bureau. I'll never attend one of their shows again.

Cant believe I have to do this. We are huge Cirque fans - never missed a show in New York for the last 7 years and have seen every show in vegas. every year we get the VIP Rouge package in NY, which is a bout 250-275 per person and includes drinks, food and great seats. I have to tell you, since Verakai and Allegria, the VIP rouge package is not worth it anymore. The food is sparse, they had 1 food and drink station this time and the room was very crowded with no place to stand or sit. Literally, the space was about 1500 square feet and people were essentially struggling to get food and drinks. This is very disappointing given the price you pay for the VIP package. Quite honestly, Cirque used to be a total package for us, great environment pre-show and at intermission , and of course a great show. This was far from that. the acts were sub-par - at least the first half - many mistakes as well. The second half was better, but still we were itching for more. out of all the shows we have seen, this was least favorable in all respects - VIP Rouge treatment and acts. This is probably the last time we will see a show locally, as the producers have shown us in the last few shows that they really don't care about their loyal customers and VIP Rouge customers - they have cheapened the experience tremendously. We are truly disappointed. I would not pay to see this show as Cirque should provide what we have all come to expect - an amazing overall experience. If you are a newcomer, trust me that this is not what you should expect from a Cirque show. Im honestly not sure why many reviewers here are raving about the show. I read these reviews prior to going to show and thought, these negative reviewers are probably just cold people - i was wrong - they were spot on im sorry to say. Send a message to Cirque, mediocrity is not what we have come to expect from this great franchise. My guess is that in a few years, you will be selling tickets on Groupon for a huge discount as people will not be willing to pay the prices you have come accustomed to.

$430 wasted. Performers falling down, often unable to complete stunts. Repetitive. Only 2 skilled performers, the rest were mediocre. Rock music was too loud. I have been to 6 previous shows, this one was the worst of all of them. Cirque Du Soleil is going down hill fast. The show was not choreographed well. The skits were boring, They gift shops at the entry had nothing but T-shirts and christmas ornaments, there were not stuffed characters like in the past. there was nothing to buy for my 4 year old. I will not attend another Cirque Du Soleil as a result.

This show was intense, overstimulating, and not appropriate for children. the clowns or whatever they were, not good. There were several scenes when I thought, sitting next to my two young girls, "oh my gosh, I hope they stop.". My 9 year old walked out with mom second half...let's see what else - the performers seemed as stressed as we were. Think of the weirdness that was obviously weird in the Hunger Games movies...this was the feeling of this performance. oh - and one other thing, the $10 beers were way expensive. Are you kidding me...

I've been to five amazing Cirque Du Soleil shows in the past and I must say that Amuluna was the most boring and had the least production value of any show. The clowns were boring and very annoying, walking on ropes almost put me to sleep, the water orb was hardly amazing (what's so amazing about a girl splashing in and out of a water tub?), and overall the stunts were nowhere near as good as other shows. The most entertaining part was the start when the red cloth floats in mid air. I would strongly suggest to save your money and wait for a better show or instead go and have a small vacation somewhere. You'll have more fun that way than attending "boringluna".

The music was mediocre, as was the singing. Acts lacked the heart-stopping standard that is expected from Cirque (We have seen Saltimbanco, Alegria, Kooza). The clowns and their story was absurd and laughable, not in a good way. Only the Unicycles, Manipulator and the Icarian Games + Watermeteors were worth watching but definitely not at $130per ticket (which were bought as a promotion package and would have been $200 each!)

I have been going to see Cirque du Soleil since they started performing in tents in Montreal in the late 80's. Amaluna was the most tedious of any Cirque show I have ever seen.
The company was sold to Private Equity in 2015 and already you see the cost cutting and squeeze on margins taking place. The ring side seats have disappeared where the performers could roam freely amongst the audience. It's new owners instead have stuffed another 300 or so extra seats on the floor so there is no room for the performers to move freely in and around the stage.
Gone is some of the great interactiveness where a member of the audience is picked out to be part of the performance. The comics between acts were given dreadfully repetitive scenes to act out and the story became stale very quickly. The music was unbearable.
One of the biggest disappointments, however, were the great missing acts from previous years. The contortionists, the high wires, the trapeze, the unicycle and the breathtaking wheel of death which is one of the great Cirque performances of all time...all gone.
There were some memorable performances but there was such a tremendous amount of "filler" and the whole thing simply left us feeling flat and fleeced.
I would be hard pressed to rush back to buy tickets given what its new owners are doing to the show..cutting acts, cutting performers and cutting costs.

Hi,
I'm hoping to book tickets to Amaluna in Manchester, there are some front row seats available, they're quite pricey so wanted to check if sitting at the front of this show is an advantage or disadvantage.
Thanks

The best vantage point with most theatrical shows in from the front. I would imagine that principle applies here, too. That said, we were seated towards the side - seats a little less pricey, but didn't feel we missed out too much.

Morning not sure if anyone can help please? We have tickets to Cirque du Soleil Luzia in Toronto next Wednesday, which we are looking forward to. However I am trying to find out about transport links from the event back to Union Station after the event. Does anyone know how this works please?
