Inexpensive, enjoyable, humorous entertainment. Energetic group kept the laughs coming. I would suggest it's for an adult crowd - caught myself rolling my eyes at parents that had brought "tween" kids along - nothing R-rated, but some language and adult humor to be sure. Didn't try the restaraunt, but many people near us commented on dining at Wayne Gretsky's next... More

Saw the main stage troupe here recently on a Sunday eveningand it was HILARIOUS! Outstanding comedy and a very, very fun time. Mixed drinks are pretty expensive and WAY short on anything remotely alcohol-related (if you get my drift)? Stick to beer and wine. A wonderful place to visit and also to connect to the likes of Dave Thomas, Gilda... More

Been to the Chicago version of Second City multiple times back in the day. My dated recollection is that it was sometimes funny, sometimes interesting, sometimes not. The Toronto show did less true improvising, ie taking ideas from the crowd. Show was divided between the polished review in the first half and works in progress for the second half. Some... More

I love a good comedy night, back at home we always go to see stand up comedy....but this was not that, instead a serious of very funny sketches with basic but good slick production values. Had as laughing non stop and although based around modern life and local politics we understood all the jokes despite being from Britain. Brilliant night... More

Wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived ... Was worried it was a bunch of no-names living off the Second City name. Well that was definitely not the case! Skits mixed in with a bit of improv. All was extremely witty and funny. Audience was fully engaged. No need to stoop to vulgar standup humour. Highly recommend arriving early... More

We paid $35 for a Sunday night, seats on the rail. It was well worth it! The show was funny, the performers were talented, the wait staff was prompt. There are no complaints at all. I would recommend if you are visiting Toronto you should try to get tickets to Second City. This is a no brainer! We brought a... More

Looking for a place to laugh the night away? Then head here. Great time was had by all. I recommend getting there early for best seating as seats are not reserved but if you can't it looked like all seats had good view of the stage. Wait staff was friendly. Two small steps to enter building if you have difficulty... More

Just a great spot to have a great evening of comedy! If you enjoy laughing and even a little audience participation, you won't be disappointed! The actors are wonderful and topical, hitting on many of the craziest things happening in the news and even skewering some deserving people in the process! Lots of fun and well worth the time and... This is the Canadian extension of the Chicago original and a must for anyone visiting Toronto! They do shows nightly and they are down right funny and worth the visit! The venue is comfortable and the drinks are well poured. This is a must!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
