Usually the number of men to women is not so bad the bad part is the amount of women who just sit around with their friends gawking and taking dick pics. This is what has become of hanlans point.

There are lots of nice places to walk around on the Toronto Islands, and even a so-so amusement park on Centre Island. But Hanlan's Point is notable mostly for being out of the way, which is how it became Toronto's main nude beach. So, if you want a nude beach, here is the place. If not, there is not much reason to be here.

quite dirty, what a difference after the central island;
turns out most visitors are those "pride" people whose bihaviour we found unacceptable
do not go there unless you belong to that "proud" community

Harlan's Point is a great day or even half a day thing to do. The beach has a clothing mandatory and clothing optional area, so depends on your preferences. I would suggest purchasing tickets online so you don't have to wait in line when departing. There is not a great deal of shade, so wear sunscreen appropriately. Make certain you find out what time the last ferry departs to head back to Toronto, or else you will have to take a water taxi, which I have heard is not the greatest.

Hanlan's point in general is a great section of the island. It has tennis courts and picnic grounds, but the beach... well, it's suppose to be a clothing optional beach. The term is used because it's a public beach and thus, the city can't say "nude" is mandatory. Given this and it's easy access, it unfortunately sees too many people that either want to gawk or come there thinking it's full of open minded people and therefore a party zone. We really wish those folks would leave us alone! We didn't fight for this beach to become a waterfront show. Please go to your own beach.

Too many people are treating the beach as a place to come and gawk and post to Facebook that they went to a "nude" beach today. I wish there was a way to make it nude mandatory but don't imagine the govt. would ever consider that.

It's not so much that I mind people being clothed there, I just mind people who come to stare and not positively contribute to the otherwise great atmosphere.

I LOVE Hanlan's Point so much I started my business renting beach chairs and umbrella's 13 years ago. I love my office :-) I love the eclectic mixture of people and the fact people who go there are generally happy...as it's the one place they WANT to be..away from the worries and complexities of life. I love the fact people are comfortable with themselves, regardless of their body size or shape. If you're there to judge..you should stay home. People lose their inhibitions once the outer layers are stripped away and therefore everyone is friendly; no attitude. A great place to meet new people. Regarding inloveinlove below..I think she forgot to mention she originally tried to take an umbrella without waiting for the attendant, knowing very well they were for rent. When my guys approached her, she was defensive, aggressive in her words and body language, and insisted on being served asap even though we had a huge waiting list for umbrella's. It's difficult to believe she isn't aggressive when in her own words below she talks of pepper spraying my employee's and also bully's them in her written words with personal attacks on appearance. My sweaty guys (as you called them) had already worked on their feet, in the hot sun, on the hot sand, making our customers more comfortable for three solid hours by the time you arrived. I tell my employee's they don't have to serve anyone that's out of line. They are there to make "everyone's" experience better...not to take abuse. Leave your attitude and judgements behind and come for a special day. It's really a mini vacation. Can't wait to see you there...yes inloveinlove...we'd welcome you back too.

I never thought I would go nude in public EVER! I went to the beach with a group of random strangers and of course we are all now friends after putting it all out there in the open. It is a very liberating experience.

However bring lots of sunscreen, ask for help applying it all around you as if you miss a spot you're going to get a really weird looking burn! Also bring some food and a rather large beach blanket, the sand here is really fine and you need a large area if you want to keep sand free.

Food and Alcohol are also nice to haves, make sure your alcohol is concealed though don't be stupid and bring bottles and cans you will get caught.

This is a beach for nudist who are very respectful; though it is the perverts that only go to catch a glimpse of what they are to coward to do. Many pull up on there boats and use binoculars to sneak a peak. It is my opinion that if you are curious enough to visit, then indulge- otherwise be respectful and give the nudist their due respect!
