This is the western area of the Toronto Islands. There are a couple of refreshment stands on Hanlan's and there are washrooms, some with a shower, along the paved path that runs along the point. At the end closest to the city is the Island Airport (Billy Bishop Airport) but it is fenced in. You can however get close enough... More

Have been going here for some time and always enjoy the mixing and mingling of everyone. I believe that this is one of the nicest beaches (swimsuit or not) in the GTA. It's large, spacious and doesn't require fighting with the moody beach goers that you sometimes get with other beaches.

Harlan's Point is on one of the islands in Toronto Harbour. The nude / clothing optional part of the beach is the subject of this review. Easy to get to (Quick ferry from downtown plus 10 minute walk). Sand ok, but a bit gritty. Showers and toilets on or near the beach. So far so good. The main let-down is... More

Great beach! probably my favourite one for the Toronto area. Forget Cherry Beach. I've been coming to Hanlan's since 2002 and I just love it. It's a quick ride from downtown Toronto on a nice little ferry and the water is clean too. I always check the Blue Flag certification (a grade given to Ontario beaches) and this beach's e-coli... Too many people are treating the beach as a place to come and gawk and post to Facebook that they went to a "nude" beach today. I wish there was a way to make it nude mandatory but don't imagine the govt. would ever consider that. It's not so much that I mind people being clothed there, I just mind... More

Such a short commute from downtown - hop on the ferry and then a short walk / bike ride and you'll find yourself at a beautiful beach.. I find the beaches at Hanlan's point more young and active than some of the other Island beaches, it's got a very laid back vibe and lots of people enjoying discreetly some cold... More

We stopped at this island first. Rented bikes in the city and took the ferry over. There is a nude beach with lots of funny drum circles and people sunbathing, but there are also other parks and beaches in the area. I enjoyed this island because it was so underdeveloped compared to the others. It's just a lovely area to... More

Great place to spend the day! Great view of the city, nice beaches, and love to rent a bicycle built for 2 or 4 and tour the island.

Hanlan's point is part of Toronto's islands, accessible by ferry from the Jack Layton ferry terminal at Queen's Quay and Bay Street. It's home to expansive parkland, walking and biking trails, and Toronto's only clothing optional beach. There is also a clothed section nearby. If you're going to get naked, make sure you're in the right area! Same goes for... More
