I am a regular patron of Elmwood Spa. I highly recommend this spa, the service is excellent, the facilities are very clean and the spa amenities such as steam, sauna and whirlpool are an added bonus. This past Sunday, Feb 7, 2016 I visited the spa for massage, lunch, facial and a hair cut. I am a avid cyclist, Isaac... More

Really lovely spa but the Jacuzzi wasn't hot enough (my bath water is hotter) and the massage wasn't great. Also we conversed with others in the Jacuzzi that also had poor massages. Too much futzing about with the sheet/blanket (just get rid of the blanket and save the time) and then the dreaded pressure point treatment (basically a finger stuck... More

I visit this spa on occasion due to it's location by my workplace and their water therapies (i.e., pool, hot tub and steam room). For the price I pay, I know I can get better services elsewhere in the city but I go for convenience. I had a particularly bad experience here recently, which has prompted me to write this... More

If I could rate this place with zero starts I would! Where to start... I'll do this in point form to make it easier to scan over. -They clearly broke their renovation budget on the basement, main & mani/pedi area because every floor is super old and date looking. The carpet looks like it's the original in the building and... More

I've had a couple of massages here, and it's always a great experience. Usually, I'm running over from my office for a quick mid-day massage, but I'd love to take advantage of the great facilities at some point. If you're pregnant, the care they take during pregnancy massages is fantastic. I would highly recommend.

This is by far the best spa experience I've had. My cousin and I went for my birthday yesterday Jan 22nd & the service was great. From check-in to check-out. We didn't have a lot of time to experience the water therapy in length but we enjoyed the little time we spent. The food was delicious. We had the short... More

My husband and I have been regular clients at the Elmwood for over 10 years now. We've loved going there for manicures, pedicures, the water therapies but especially for our massages. We have each found RMTs we both like and always book with those particular RMTs. For New Years Eve we decided to pamper ourselves. We booked 4 weeks prior... More

Wow where can I start! This spa really exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival we were given such a warm welcome by the spa receptionist, we were then waited in the lobby area and were given a hot towels whilst we filled in our consultation forms. We were then escorted to the changing rooms where we got changed into our robes... More

The services were good and the staff were so so friendly BUT DO NOT GO IN THE H2O! I went in the hot tub and only for a few minutes. I quickly realised that the water was very murky and that other guests were not showering before entering. I ended up with a UTI turned kidney infection and had to... More

I was quite disappointed with the noise level at the spa. Typically a spa has a "respect for silence" motto with staff walking around to ensure that guests stay quiet to ensure all guests are relaxed and defused from reality. The hot tub in the women's change room and the therapy pools were so noisy it felt like you were... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
