Mike was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Even though 6 out of 10 of us were a little elderly, he kept it at a slower pace and allowed extra time to complete the tour. I would highly recommend this tour if you are interested in the inner diversity of a city. However, I would not recommend this for... More

Beer tour with Mike was fun and informative. We visited 3 unique bars, Lawrence market for a quick look, then the brewery for our final tasting. Mike's is a historian comedian, LOL, and we enjoyed the small group of twelve. Be prepared to spend additional $$ on beer samples and tips. Enjoyable afternoon.

We did the Chinatown & Kensington Market at the end of May. We had a very small group, which was great for walking around. Teo was our guide, and he was energetic and knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of history, and fun facts. We got to taste a few treats along the way, which was perfect for our family.... More

A splendid time was had by all. Our guide Mike was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. They only do small groups which makes it all more personal, and we had a great group. The beer stops were great. Overall a fantastic tour.

Great to learn history of TO and to see another Toronto neighbourhood. Wish we had booked your at beginning of our trip. Mike was knowledgeable, fun and share tips for the rest of your trip.

My wife and I took a tour earlier this month of Chinatown and Kensington Market. Mike, our tour guide, was amazing. He lives in the neighborhood and was able to show us his favorite places. His passion for his neighborhood was evident. During the tour he explained to us the history of both neighborhoods. We stopped in several of the... More

We had a very nice experience on a guided tour of the Kensington Market and Chinatown by a local guide named Mike. The guide was from the area which added to his knowledge of the local stores, street people, background on the local street art, history of the area etc. Mike was engaging, flexible, and humorous adding to the tour... As with all of the tours from this company, there is a strong focus on education as well as having an absolute blast. To that end, you'll get out of it exactly what you put into it. If you're... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
