In the Liberty Grand dome front steps area are multiple food trucks parked every weekend (12-8 Sat-Sun). Choose from Liberty Grill, Gogi meat, Jerk Bro, The Arepa Republic Venezuelan, Buster’s Sea Cove, Beavertail sweets, and Naansense Fusion, plus more. I recommend Alijandro’s Fawaffle Avo Chicken or vegan original cones ($12, 10). Masks can be purchased ($2) and sanitizer is available for eating on the greens, facing the breakwaters on the other side of Lakeshore. Limited outdoor seating means you should arrive 1:00-1:30 to grab a table. Washrooms are available and entrance is free (payments contactless). Vendors do not sell drinks. Beer is available on site separately for sale. Families should bring tetra drinks, and maybe sunscreen. Entrance off Lakeshore is just West of Ontario Place.

Always a fun day but noticably absent was the petting zoo and the gravitron. Two fan favorites for the family.

We've come here a number of times to see the CNE, and are now considering other festivals year around. I must say the grounds here are really ideal for a festival. We have always seen clean bathrooms, plenty of places to sit, good air conditioning in the summer, attentive employees. Signs are always clear, parking seems to be fine, though we usually park at whatever hotel we stay and take a trolley in. We look forward to every visit.

Gone are the days of good deals. All that is left are very high prices and the feeling of being ripped off.

Back in its day the CNE was great. Food building had great deals and samples galore. Not anymore. Lousy food and high prices. Junk everywhere.

I dont know why they let it fall apart. I wish they hadnt

I loved the old Canada Garden Show at the Toronto Convention Center when it stood on its own before the amalgamation with the National Home Show Toronto several years ago. The 1st year that it merged I attended but was totally dismayed that it had been downsized. I gave it another chance this week but remain disappointed. There is a lack of gardening vendors like they used to have. The few garden displays were "over the top" representations of what could be done with a backyard.

National Home Show was nothing more than businesses I would expect on cheesy shopping channel networks. Even with the combined admission price with Canada Blooms, it is not worth the price. So disappointed.

In specific reference to the EX Place as part of a visit during the annual CNE - Canadian National Exhibit - which runs mid August to Labour day each year- the EX grounds and the CNE are not in any way even close to what they used to be.

Tired. Dated. Sparse. Faded. Bare. Out of Touch. Boring. Cookie cutter - run of the mill... just a few words (and we are trying to be kind) to describe what the EX / CNE has become.
In short - TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!!!

We used to visit the CNE EVER year - as a last highlight of the summer. We would travel 400 miles, stayed in the city for 3 or 4 days and 'do' the fair for at least 2 full days - and some years still not seeing everything the CNE 'used' to have to offer.

IN past years / decades - there was never a dull moment - the midway was PACKED - not just with people but with a wide variety of GOOD rides (for all ages) and GOOD entertainment features. Carny game of chance were fun - and fair. In the past several years rides were few, sparse, look dated / dirty / old. Basically the mid way looked liked it had died a long slow death. Our last experience was completed tainted.

Feature buildings were sparse , empty, very disappointing... not worth ever coming back to in future years.

In particular, and particularly disappointing was the FOOD Building. Thus use to be the classic busiest, fun-est, most anticipated stop - visiting it several times throughout the day. Used to be wall to wall to wall food stalls, a wide variety of foods, great variety of vendors, multiple free samples, entertainment features, good portions at great prices - BUT none of these descriptive applied AT ALL at our last visit. There were VERY few food stalls / vendors left. SO the massive building looked empty and sad - tons of empty floor space. just sad and disappointing. Truly faded glory and a major shame.

Most of the other buildings - that used to be further highlights of the family visit and would normally take hours to just get through one building and do it justice - were either empty / closed / non-existent... or like the Food Building - dull, empty, boring, and again sadly totally disappointing - a sad memory of the fun, excitement and variety that they used to be. How many cheap Sham Wow, bulk sweat sock, or slicer dicer carny booths can they put into one building - just to make it look like there was something in the space. Cheap and disappointing commercialization.

Also noticeably missing / lacking - the HEADLINER line up of entertainers that in past years were a featured highlight to cap off your day long visit. Not once in the past several years of entertainment line-ups have their been the current / up-to-date / internationally known stars - again like there used to be.
It used to be worth the extra admissions price to spend the day 'At The Ex' on the midway, in the Food and International, and Automotive Buildings, see the features on the grounds, and then finish the day in the Grand Stand watching/ hearing 'A' list entertains. Not so anymore.

All in all.....is is very sad and disappointing to see what the Ex and the CNE have become. An all too expensive disappointment - not what could or should be expected or offered in a 'world class' city.

NOT WORTH THE ADMISSION. Save your memories from the past - if you were lucky to have the opportunity. We will never be back.

If you enjoy huge crowds , someone always standing in front of you, balancing a bowl of chili and a drink while standing, and paying through the nose for it all, then this is the show for you.
Canada Blooms dipays are greatly reduced from the past and it is more of a store that you have to pay 20 bucks ( plus 17 parking ) to walk into.
The home show always has the dream house if you are willing to line up for 1/2 hour to walk shoulder to shoulder through.
Definitely my last visit !! They can rip the rest of the cattle off .

Exhibition Place is one of the top attractions in Toronto, and for good reason; there’s always something fun and interesting going on here. Their flagship event is the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), held each year at the end of summer. I love going to check out all the special vendors and different shows throughout. There are also tons of carnival games, rides, good food, and often a free concert going on. I highly recommend coming out during the Labour Day long weekend for the Air Show. Always a blast to see the snow birds in action! The only things I can really fault it for is the parking, which is atrociously expensive and difficult to find during most special events. Park elsewhere and take the Go Train out to the Ex if at all possible. Also most food and rides are on the expensive side. Best to grab an all day pass if you plan on doing a lot of that kind of stuff.

However Exhibition Place offers lots of other great events throughout the year besides just the CNE. My favorite is Caribana held in early summer. The fantastic costumes are a must see. And with lots of great steel drum music you can’t go wrong! The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is another great yearly attraction. I’m always amazed at the colossal pumpkins and squash on display. The horse shows held in Ricoh Coliseum are also very well done and entertaining. Lots of trade shows and convention are held on the grounds throughout the year too. Check out the city of Toronto’s website to see the full schedule of upcoming events. Then prepare for a great day out in the city.

Cant trust the rides, the buildings suck now. I have been attending the CNE since I was 2 years old and I cannot believe how cheesy this place has become. No more international themed events, no more free samples, no more entertaining shows, same old same old, it is getting worse as the years go by - very minimalistic. This place is overpriced to get in and deosnt offer much. I promised I would not attend after seeing how terrible last year was and then to top it all off, I saw the price of admission for this year and said no way! So, we broke our tradition and did not step foot at the CNE this year. Way to go, you lost our business.
