We took two tours with the Toronto Tour Guys. One tour was a walking of the city with emphasis on crimes, executions and other ghoulish events. The other was a tour f the St. Lawrence Market. Both were interesting and definitely worth the time spent.

Chris gave us a great tour of St Lawrence Market and a bit of its surroundings. His passion for the city and its history, his recommendations and explanations of the local foods, and his high energy & sense of humor made it very enjoyable.

Loved the stories and history on this tour! Our guide was very entertaining. My only "complaint" (and it's really not a complaint) is I wish the group had been smaller. If you weren't standing next to the guide, you couldn't hear what was being said. I would still highly recommend this tour!

Excellent guide (Garry) but there should be more information regarding the real history of the city.

An opportunity to see the city with a local guide. Lots of walking, so bring comfortable shoes. We did the financial district tour and the St. Lawrence Market tour.

Great tour (Old Town Toronto History tour) with guide Chris. Everybody was personally welcomed by him. He is a very good story teller and really brings history to life. We learned some very interesting things about the downtown area and Toronto in general. Time very well worth it.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
