One was the Old Town and the other the Financial Centre. These were great tours conducted by very knowledgeable people with a sense of humour and friendly personality. There is no way we could have learnt or seen so much by ourselves.

Gerry was the best - friendly, knowledgeable, and just as interested in you as he is in educating you about the Market and the surrounding neighborhood. Very nice to have someone that places your story as being as important as the overall education you receive about early Toronto. The food stalls are amazing, the variety, quality and cleanliness. Very nice... More

My husband and I really lucked out with our guide Garry. He was prompt, funny, interesting and full of information. We loved both the Downtown Toronto and the Old Town Toronto tours. He was helpful with getting us to Ward Island by ferry. We had a great afternoon there. Do these tours!

Goshen's tour was great. She was articulate and clear providing a great history lesson of the Lawrence market. I missed the morning session but she summarised it with the 2 minute run through of the 5 phases of Toronto. The food tour was great with time allowance to try and buy local produce. Would highly recommend the tour.

Julian was very knowledgeable and insightful. Only got a chance to go on one of the tours but felt it was very well done.

Daniel introduced us to the world of graffiti at the start. and thru the tour he covered the names of the "big stars" and up and comers. The pace was good altho the crowd was full of slow-walkers. The usual folks who have more to say than to listen. I've been down there tons of times and the guide added... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
