I really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide, Mel, provided our group with lots of information about the history of Toronto, the falls, etc. He was punctual and ensured our group was in compliance with the schedule in order to partake in all the scheduled activities and avoid having the rest of the group wait on people that stayed behind.... The Chariots of Fire tour to Niagra Falls and the surrounding district was fabulous. I have visited this area several times on other trips to Canada, but Mel, the tour guide, with his rather monotone voice and dry sense of humour, was just wonderful and really made the day. Mel was a true professional - courteous, laid back, but with... More

We booked this tour on the strength of the TripAdvisor reviews and were really glad we did. Our tour guide for the day was Mel and boy does he know his stuff. The ride from Toronto to the Falls took about 90 mins and his encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of the areas we passed through all day was amazing.... More

The tour guide, Mel, was incredible with all the history on the way to the falls. The accuracy and energy he had for that long over an hour ride paid off. We were so excited to get there. The shuttle was not packed and thankfully not a huge tour mega tour bus, yet a smaller group where you can, if... More

We had a really good and drama-free time on the COF Niagara Falls tour. The van fit 9 people, which was very comfortable. Everybody was friendly but gave each other enough space at the same time which was very nice (not a big fan of overly bubbly or needy tourists). Mel is not the typical bubbly guide that you expect... Being from the U.K and on holiday to Canada, my family said it was important to visit Niagara as its one of the 7 wonders of the world, and just generally beautiful. My family weren't wrong, and they certainly picked the right tour, as we came a across Mel, a knowledgeable and extremely helpful guide who made our experience a... More

This tour was better than expected. My friend and I booked with Chariots after reading all the great reviews and seeing the fabulous price. Mel was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. Everything was laid out very well and we were always aware of when we had to meet back at the bus. There were a variety of stops along the... More

We got to see all of the stops along the way and surrounding Niagara just as the tour describes! Mel, our guide, was super knowledgeable and I'm amazed by how much information he could give us. My friend and I pre-purchased tickets for the Hornblower, but opted out of the Skylon--however you do have the option to buy it on... More

I was looking for a tour to cover the basic Niagara sights in one day from Downtown Toronto, and chose this one because of the good reviews. I was not disappointed. The guide Mel is extremely knowledgeable about the local history, going back centuries. For every point in the trip and many along the road he has some anecdote or... More

We did this tour yesterday, were out all day with our guide. We were amazed by the driver's knowledge of local history. We saw and did so much, well worth it. Did the extra boat tour as well, not to be missed. Extra surprise, he dropped us back at our hotel after. Great tour.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
