Totally enjoyed the hour and a half presentation by the docent. Enjoyed it so much that we plan on going back in July when the entire park is open and manned with re-enactors.

My wife and I visited Fort William on September 13, 2016. Their tourist season ended on US Labor Day. While the old fort, reproduced some years ago exactly in the same layout as in the early days of fur trading was nearly empty of visitors, there were sufficient staff in period dress, language and behavior to demonstrate life as it... After settling in at around 1:30 pm at the Best Western plus we headed to the Fort Williams Historical Park (about 10 miles west of the hotel). If you have ever been to the fur trading fort at Mackinac (across from Mackinac Island) it is very similar but this reproduction much larger. The experience is of going back to around... More

Such a great opportunity for my grandchildren to see how Canada was first settled. It was a hot summer day and the role-playing by the students was excellent. The kids enjoyed seeing the different workstations especially when They got to make their own little tanned purses. In hindsight I don't think I would go when it was 80° outside otherwise... More

I cannot say enough about the experience at the fort. The docent who escorted us around was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He answered all our questions and we had the questions. The tour was a great learning experience. It also tied in with our visits to the Voyageurs NP and Grand Portage NM in Minnesota.

Many times I have visited this site and am ever amazed at the historical accuracy of the attraction, costumes, and actors that make us feel welcome and bring history to life.

Structurally a great historical tour represent the Fort William as it use to look, albeit in a different location. However the activities and maintenance of the park is lacking and could do with an influx of funds and interest.

This is a must see attraction while in Thunder Bay. The university students do a wonderfull job of roll playing the original settlers way of life. The display is high quality and looks very authentic with it's working blacksmith, canoe building, vegetable garden, animal fur trading etc. They took song and dance to the children and involved visitors whenever they...
