Reasonable entry fee. Great facilities for all ages and abilities. Staff cordial, informative and helpful. This fort is a step back into the time of the French Voyageurs. Employees dressed and perform in this time era. Absolutely a history buff's paradise. Restaurant inside offers the best stew ever!

Dropped in for quick visit but wish we could've spent more time here. Wonderfully restored fort with lots of exhibits and information on the buildings and people that would've been there. Staff were dressed in period costume and were all very enthusiastic and knowledgable. Visitor centre was excellent and staff very friendly. Overall we spent 90 mins in the fort... More

We went to Old Fort William on "The Siege of Fort William" day. The staff were great - they were in character the whole time and entertained the kids! One staff member invited our whole family into the tepee and gave us a comprehensive history of the Fur Trade, the role of the Voyageur, and a glimpse into a traditional... More

I spent an entire summer in Thunder Bay when I was 13 and visited Old Fort William with family. It was awesome and I hoped some day to go back, so when my Husband was transferred due to his work and we lived there, I suggested that we go see the Fort. We were not disappointed. It was as nice... If you are at all interested in the fur trade era, Fort William is a must see attraction. Although it is a reconstruction not on the original site, it is very well done. Period re-enactors also add so very much to the experience. Highly recommended

This is a gem of a place. There is no better way to get a feel for the important history of the heart of the continent in the early 1800's. The province of Ontario has done a first class job of establishing and maintaining this historic fur trade fort and developing programs that make history come alive with a very... More

Very well set up. Very interesting. Interactive site. History lesson of the area. Suggest putting numbers on the buildings to match the handout map. Our cell phone could not use the coded information format at each bldg. Great time even with the slight drizzle.

Just a very special day at the historical outpost. The reenactors were almost spot on with their knowledge and craftsmanship of the early fur trading business. Several of the hosts had in-depth knowledge and were great and patient in teaching it. several hands-on demonstrations for young and old made for a great family day!.

If you like history and want to learn more about the fur trade in Canada, then Fort William Historical Park is the place for you. The Fort also offers an observation dome for the stars and planets, also another great attractions for kids and adults alike. The winter festival is also fantastic. A top tourism attraction in Thunder Bay.
