Old Fort William is a great place to escape and go back in time to the days of 1815, where the fur traders and explorers hung their hats and exchanged goods. The group that live and work at the old fort actually live the life as it was lived back in the fur trader days, doing and applying the many... More

Fort William Trading Post was a stop over place for Trappers,Courier du Bois, and Scottish merchants in the then lucartive fur trade, The Fort has been restored to it's original state and is truly spectacular. But what makes the Fort impressive is the staff who play their part as if it was the 1800s.This is what sets this Park aside from... More

Apart from visiting the Fort for historical interest, they have great concerts, plays, artisan workshops & event venues; great place for a wedding. The hosts (employees) have great enthusiasm and are well informed. New Year's Eve is a great, family friendly celebration.

I visited this park on the last day of the season. While a number of attractions were already closed (most of the buildings did not have anyone in them), the guides that were present were friendly, stayed in character and provided an amazing overview of Canadian history. I learned more about Canadian history in the 5 hours I spent at... More

The "Haunted Fort" was a great night. Just over an over with our guide through the park was entertaining. This was our first time back to this event in about 6 years. Admission was the same price for everyone ($15) which was okay but a reduced rate for seniors or students might be more appealing. Unfortunately, the young teenage we... More

We had been to Old Ford William 30 years ago and were thrilled to enjoy the young guides tell us about life at the Fort when fur trade was the major business. These young people continue to impress me with their ability to stay in costume throughout the visit--including their conversations (no where else does this). From the person driving... More

We were there in the off season and thus had a private tour. There were school groups there the day we were there. Its well worth the time and price of admission.

It isn't at the original site. We were there late in the season when the historic enactors had left for the season but it was great. Great tour guide. Great history. It even acknowledge the role of Grand Portage in MN.
