Bucket List: Visit every Provincial Park in Ontario. Good hiking trails, boardwalk and history at this park. We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. It is right by a US border crossing so the visitor centre has lots of information for...More

Another of provincial parks without clear direction. I only learnt about this waterfall in Thunder Bay on way to Kakabeka Falls. GPS brought us along the Pigeon River but we could not find any signs of the park. Luckily we finally located a sign in...More

Natural beauty all around us. Lots of space for a good stroll or picnic. The sound of the rushing water amongst natures peacefulness was truly enjoyable.

Half and hour from Thunder Bay is Pigeon River Provincial Park. A short hike take you to the top of a waterfall for super vistas. Alternatively hike an easy trail to Lake Superior.

A rugged, more primitive Provincial Park that was at one time a busy place. Actually had a OPP. detachment known as Middle Falls. Close to the Pigeon River border crossing. Remnants of old Government structures. Known for sightings of illegal immigrant crossings, and unknown creatures.

When you're at the Pigeon River Border, you have a choice: Take a walk on the Canadian Wild Side, or the American boardwalk with stairs and railings. See the falls from either side, with a bonus on the U.S. grounds (washrooms!). Canadian bonus is a...More

For our first half hour in Ontario, this park was a great teaser to all the scenic hiking Ontario has to offer. Easy to find the waterfall, and it's fun to look back at the US on the other side.

Not Lisa. I suspect at this point it should be accessible with good boots. Definitely snow shoes. It gets sun so should be opening up.
