Play was excellent and we got a great deal on the tickets. Theatre was pleasant and seat comfortable. Beware, if you pre-order wine it comes in a plastic travel beaker with a slidy lid! I'm not a wine snob but expect a glass with a stem! Not impressed. Staff were very nice and helpful. Allow plenty of time for parking... More

There isn't any distinguishing characteristics to this building so when you're driving trying to find it it is difficult. I found that parking and then walking was best, although finding parking near there could prove to be difficult. It is in the middle of town surrounded by other shops. Once inside the seats were quite uncomfortable and very little leg... More

We went to see Shakespeare in Love this past weekend and it was brilliant, funny and thoroughly enjoyable. The theatre itself is gorgeous, the staff all well-trained and courteous and it is accessible to those with mobility issues. The food and drinks are pricey but that is to be expected. You can get discounted tickets for same day performances which... More

The second for active theatres used for the Stratford Festival. Amazing sets and intimate proportions. Truly professional in every way. Make sure to book well in advance to get the best seats.

Each of the festival theatres has a different audience/performer configuration. The Avon frequently hosts the musical offerings. This year I was A Little Night Music, a musical I've seen many times. This production was fresh, and new, and a design delight. In down town, there is no parking lot associated with the theatre so you would do well to scout... More

Went on a gorgeous summer day for a matinee at The Avon Theatre with the family and my best friend. We all lived the show. The second half was our favourite and yes I cried, as Azlan was fantastic. The costumes were most impressive. So amazing we have this gorgeous town of Stratford in Ontario! A must see for every... More

This is a lively sized theatre. Very posh and formal. The seats are comfortable and it is very clean. The lobby is a great size and all the staff very professional and helpful.

"A Little Night Music" at the Avon Theatre was a very interesting and entertaining musical. Having seen director Gary Griffin's version of this same musical at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in 2003 I felt that this production was not as good. Some of the staging and scenic elements were strange and not satisfying as it felt like designer Debra Hanson got... More
