I don't like crowds but with the theater setting it is different. Seating at the Avon is moderately comfortable but not spacious. Beautiful theater and friendly staff.

We enjoyed seeing Little Shop of Horrors here. The theatre itself is a beautiful and well maintained building. The staff were all friendly. If you’re checking in a jacket be sure to bring exact change!

An absolutely beautiful theater

Great site lines. The first 2 rows where we sat are just too close. Saw The Little Shop of Horrors and it was fantastic.

The gift shop is overpriced and the items did not look to be of great quality.

Comfy seats.

Prosceneum theater with great acting and production
Oct 2019
The Avon is a proceneum theater (what most folks think of as a standard theater for plays) with great sight lines. For my money the best seats are around row H where you are not looking up at the actors but are not too far back. Acoustically it is very nice and the lighting and set possibilities are about as good as this style of theater can have. Seats are comfortable and the aisles are not very steep. All in all a great place for a play.

Noel Coward wrote Private Lives. The woman seated next to me assured me that it was one of his two best plays. The actors were excellent and the play humorous and entertaining. The denouement I found thin and unsatisfying.

We parked a few blocks from the theater in a residential area. The lobby is connected to the theater store. Restroom facilities and coat check are downstairs. Hearing assist devices are available free of charge. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. Our sight lines were good on the main floor to the left of the aisle and mid-way down.

Beautiful theatre with very comfy seats

Saw The Crucible here on Sep 28th. The theatre is beautiful and so close to many restaurants for pre- or post-show meals. Plenty of on-street parking within easy walking distance. Very comfortable seating, and a great gift shop attached next door with tons a gift and souvenir ideas. Facilities clean with easy access. Lots of treat options before the show and during intermission.

A beautiful, traditional proscenium arch stage and theatre, with world-class performances
Sep 2019
We love this old theatre. It is maintained to a standard of excellence while retaining its traditions. Modern lounge out front, and a fascinating theatre store attached (a must-visit!)

We went to see Noel Coward's "Private Lives" and the first thing we spotted when we entered the balcony area was huge curved settings that screamed "Art Deco" and "30s". It was softly lit in blues and orangey reds. Costumes are perfection, and the performance is world-class as Stratford always is.

You can pre-order drinks from the bar to be ready at intermission, and the cookies were superb. The lounge arm-chairs are a comfortable change from the theatre seating which was itself quite acceptable.

This is theatre that has featured and does feature still, world-famous actors doing what they do best: entertain superbly.

Friday night dinner and a play
Sep 2019
Went to see The Crucible. Excellent performance and thought provoking play. Unfotunately the seating was highly uncomfortable. Chairs were very small, tightly packed and with virtually no room for your legs. For a 3 hour play, this was very difficult to cope with. Despite the great play, it is likely I will never go to another one at this particular theatre. Highly recommend the Stratford plays though.
