Although it is closed for the season, will reopen Victoria day weekend, it is the best place for children. There is a playground beside it which is accessible for children with special needs. For a nickle a ride you can go on as many times...More

Always nice to take out of town visitors for a ride. Kids love it and it's still only a nickel to ride.

This is a great place for kids of all ages. The Carousel is beautifully kept and brings you back to your childhood. There is a playground right beside and a beach. For a nickel it is the best value around!

Every year we make at least 2 visits to the carousel with our grandchildren. This authentic ride with its wooden animals & 4 seater junior theme benches is a treat for the whole family. At 5 cents a ride per person (adults also!) it can...More

Riding the Carousel takes you back to a time when the pace of life was slower and where simpler things were enjoyed for what they were. Climb on, close your eyes and be there too.

Parking is free. Parking lot can fill up fast. Arrive early and you may not have too much trouble. You can park on the back streets of Port and then walk to the beach.

Does the Lakeside park carousel accept US nickels? Or should we get some Canadian? From what I can tell its a differing opinion on whether or not we need to exchange money while we are in the Niagara area....

I'm sure your US nickels will be fine. By the way, there is no differing opinion on whether or not to change money while in Canada. The vast majority hold the opinion that yes, you should change your US money over to Canadian unless you are planning on using your credit card for all transactions. Businesses in Niagara Falls will accept US currency but only as a courtesy to the US customer. In exchange the business will always give you a poor exchange rate and it will end up costing you...More
