Recently visited with some friends from out of town. I was really proud of their reaction to the gallery, They commented that it was a reflection of the community.

A lovely art gallery....two rooms of very interesting and historical artwork. The third room was unavailable due to the installation of a new exhibit. We had a fun painting class...who knew my Family was so artistic! We also had a catered lunch which was lovely. We had planned this in advance to celebrate a Family Birthday and the Staff went... Because there are 4 museums within minutes of each other in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, we had a chance to visit this attraction. It sits in the parkland by the water which sets the mood of tranquillity before you even set foot inside the door. It's in a modern space and set up beautifully. Benches are provided to sit and... I think this was a great experience. There were wonderful pictures to look at. I was assured upon entering that it was appropriate for young children (as she is 7) and it was. It was a great experience. Hats off to the artists - beautiful work! The staff was friendly on our arrival and I would recommend. I'd also recommend... More

Great space. The exhibits I have seen have always been tastefully displayed. Nice variety in the gift shop.

There was a show on celebrating the 40th anniversary of the gallery that showed the breadth and variety of the collection. Forty works starting with 18th century watercolours of Sault Saint Marie, group of seven artists and several paintings by Jack Bush and a variety of other Canadian artists like Bruno and Molly Boback and Emily Carr.

When we walked into the main gallery there was a painting on one wall that looked like a donut and in the centre of the room was a grang piano with several small pine trees hung upside down over the piano. We noticed red wires attached to some of the piano strings, but there was no written explanation about this... More

It isn't big but it has beautiful art to look at and it is on the boardwalk. I enjoyed the temporary showcase but also the permanent collection.

When we visited, much of the art gallery was devoted to some very modern art that I didn't personally care for. But there were also many charming paintings. Worth a stop if you're in the area with an hour to kill and you've seen the boardwalk and museums already.

It is always nice to see art through someone else's eyes. It worth the trip if you love art! Won't take up to much of your time. Enjoy
