Visited with my 9 year old and 7 year old. Pint size menu was great - the portions were massive! They could have easily shared. The beetroot and goat cheese salad was delicious as was the impossible burger. Excellent service and just a really nice experience overall!

We have eaten several times here and never disappointed. The burgers are tasty but my favourite is the Cuban rolls as they really are special and have many flavours going on.
I also like the breweries beer, specifically the Hazelnut stout if its available…worth it if you are a stout lover.

Fantastic pub, beer, food, atmosphere & ambiance
I started by having a 60-minute tour of the micro-brewery production facilities. The tour was informative and enjoyable. We learned of its 2008 beginnings and goal of creating unique flavoured, high-quality beer. We came to try their beer and had heard that their food offerings are upscale. For beer, we tried the Square Nail Pale Ale, Paddler’s Ale, and Pub House Ale. All the beer was great and helped wash down the pub’s delicious foods. For food, we started with guacamole with tortilla chips and KFC. This was not your typical KFC, but rather Kawartha fried cauliflower served with tangy ranch. Next, we had a beet and arugula salad, a chicken wood-fired pizza and a burger with bacon, mushroom, and cheese. I asked for the burger to be medium-rare, and it arrived nice and juicy with a touch of pink . . . And more importantly, it was very tasty. All the food went great with the Publican beers we selected. Our server was friendly, polite, attentive and helpful. Okay . . . Forget the very good food; this is a craft brewer who produces fantastic, great tasting beer.
The atmosphere and ambiance are wonderful at this craft brewer. The other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves, and everyone seemed very friendly.

We're so glad you enjoyed it and got to see the 'behind the scenes' of the brewery. The KFC is the favourite of our staff too! Cheers

Great night out with my friends and my husband. We ran out of drinks tried to wave our waitress down and was not Heard or seen so I walked over to the bar with my friend and ordered a drink ...asked what he had that was sweet to drink he didn’t say anything then walked across the dining area in a rut grabbed a menu brought it back to me set it on the bar table and said go back to your table and order your drinks there! Super rude I was Lost for words. Super rude and very unfriendly. When I came back to the table without drinks . Then the server came over so I asked what the problem with me ordering a drink at the bar was? She said you can that’s totally fine.
I’m a regular customer and i haven’t ever had issues before here. Major turn off. Please review your staff!!!!

Worse pizza I've ever had in my life. Pesto pizza? Really? No sign or taste of pesto. It was bland tomato sauce. Way too much arugula and little artichoke.

Really beautiful renovation and good service but other reviews saying food is mediocre are correct. On the positives we all enjoyed the french fries and my husband really enjoyed the turkey wings. I was excited to have Ontario White Fish for the fish and chips as this is my favourite when we go to Georgian Bay (I had been wanting to come here specifically to get Ontario white fish). They switched to haddock...not even another locally sourced fish!...but of course the price was no cheaper. 16-22 for mediocre haddock is not worth it. 2 people at our table ordered the fish and chips despite the fish and it was fishy. Theyve only been open ~4 weeks and have already cheaped out on a menu item but havent updated their advertising or printed menu. Had the KFC (fried cauliflower) - way too salty and otherwise a bit bland. The biggest issue became the chicken gravy (which my mom is generally a fan of and typically not picky when it comes to gravy). 3/4 at the table tried it and described it as: weird, musty, rancidn gross. Its pretty hard to mess up gravy so that really needs to change. The BLT salad was okay..nothing special, wouldn't reorder. They were also out of 2 of the beers my husband wanted to try in a flight - the black lager and henrys. No comparable replacements. Also disappointing is to see yet another restaurant list their main vegetarian option as a veggie sandwich. As a pescatarian who rarely eats fish, mostly veg, I never order these. It has to be the laziest and least creative solution to "what to feed a vegetarian". I somehow manage to cook for myself each day and never make veggie sandwiches. Do better for the vegetarians. Would maybe retry if they expand the menu otherwise there are so many other better restaurants in town, this place doesnt rank.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write us, we appreciate your feedback. We're sorry to hear you had a negative experience with us and we really hope you'll give us another try down the road.
Unfortunately we have had to change some menu items due to availability both with the food and beverage options, but we are always keeping quality in mind when doing so.
We are looking to update the menu within the next couple of weeks and we hope you'll come back to give some of the new options a try. We would love to hear back from you to hear how we did on your next visit.

My Mom and I dropped in for lunch on a Saturday around noon hour. It was not busy, so no reason why they got our order wrong. I received the wrong pizza and should have sent it back but ate it anyway, although I did advise the server. It was just "okay" nothing special the crust was too thick. My Mom ordered a grilled veggie sandwich which she also found nothing special, in fact found that the bread inside was soggy next to the veggies. I am giving them two stars for a very nice potato salad. We did not have any beer so I can't comment on that.

I have had two visits to the Publican House and both times I thought the experience was only average. Lovely make over of this old building on the corner of Rubridge and Charlotte and I am impressed with the size of the deck and seating. However the food leaves a lot of room for improvement.
First visit were seats inside with a girlfriend and we ordered guacamole and chips and split a vegie sandwich. The guacamole was delicious and vegie sandwich was not the best and kinda greasy. The service was very friendly and professional but the noise levels in the room was very loud and empty sounding. Bad acoustics when the room is full of loud voices. I found myself hard to hear what my friend was saying a few times. I had the Raspberry wheat beer which was nice and cold.
Second visit was on the patio with nice umbrellas and trees. What a lovely deck. Again great service. I agree with previous reviews that there is not enough to choose from on the menu The waitress mentioned the specials for pizza and the pickerel salad which my husband had. He said the fish which was lightly grilled was delicious. I ordered the one piece fish and chips and I am sorry but the worst fish I have ever had. It was coated with thick breading that was soaked in grease. I only ate the fish after removing the breading and piled it on the side of my plate. And for 16 dollars. No coleslaw. Not a place to order fish and chips. The drink choices are many if you like craft beers though. Only two wine choices.
I know that they just opened but the potential is there to become a great place in Peterborough and I might go again if they improve the menu choices and food. And will order a pizza as the nice brick fire oven would do a great job. We'll see .

While I love the atmosphere and the service was great, the food is totally boring and overpriced for the kind of food that it is. Mostly deep fried with your typical ranch sauce sides. Not a lot of choice for those who are vegetarian or need a gluten free option. Will go back, but hope that the menu changes soon.
