What a treat to have this attraction, and free! in Peterborough. There is a small well-maintained zoo with interesting animals, playground, splash pad, park, picnic areas, beach areas, and disc golf course.

I am not really into zoos having travelled to Africa and most of North and Central America observing birds and mammals in their natural habitat. The Peterborough zoo is small however it appears to be well run and most of the animals have a bit of room to move.

I know that a zoo is not for everyone, but this is a great place to visit with kids. In addition to the zoo displays there's a nice picnic area, playground, and splashpad. The best part is that it is free! It is best to arrive early because (free) parking can be a challenge. We had a great day with... More

Peterborough's best free attraction for the whole family!! I dare another city to beat this place!! Zoo animals, free reservations for gazebo and picnic areas, fabulous water park, free concerts, train rides, concession stand and more. Lots of parking too. Peterborough is where its at!!!

I know it's free but they say you get what you pay for right ? tons of cigarette butts in the parking lot and parking is a nightmare. bathrooms were also very unclean perhaps if there were some employees that could give information sessions on the animals it would be more fun ?

I love the splash pad and new store onsite! You can walk, ride the train, see offers and meerkats, play at the big park and explore the lakeside! So much to do and all free and fun! A great way to spend the day with the family! Pack a picnic and enjoy!

Kids both absolutely loved this park, but so did the adults. Nice riverside paths, TWO parks (the five-year-old made much of this) and neat exhibits. And everything was free except the train ($2 each) -- amazing!

I grew up going to this zoo at least 5-6 times per summer. Our favourite feature growing up was the train - and it still runs to this day! The zoo is constantly updating its enclosures - with a new monkey house, otter house, and a new splash pad and visitor centre built within the last decade or so. There... More

The zoo and parking are free. There is a small charge for the train ride which is quite nice and helps to support this park. The day we wnt was really hot and most of the animals were hiding in bush or shelters.
