It's definitely a great place to take some awesome photos!
It's hidden within the richest neighborhood of Ottawa.

Exit the Parkway and find this amazing park pavilion. And not sure if it's included in this park is the "Lookout". WOW
Both are amazing, FREE, no charge parking, and only a pit stop heading into or out of Ottawa.
Check out my pictures to see for yourselves what an oasis this hidden gem is.
The pavilion itself is a nice place to sit and relax, and washroom facilities are on site.
Our National City is OUR treasure!
Enjoy in this 150th year.
Cheers,
Paul

Nice park with good walking paths and really good for bicicles.
Close to central area with good café´s and stores. So is a good idea to have a picnic there.

Great place for a picnic with human waste flowing through. Ottawa just fails at everything.
It specializes in public outdoor space that are empty with nothing going on, and even then can't maintain them.

We were in Rockcliffe Park to celebrate a child's ninth birthday near the Pavillion. It was a very scenic location. The Pavillion is a interesting structure. There was a nice mix of sun and shade where we located. Although there were other groups in the park,we had a sense of privacy. The park did not feel crowded. The whole experience was very pleasant.

The main downside of the location. The parking area closest to the Pavillion was relatively tiny and full, except for one disabled spot. We have a disabled permit, but others had to park a distance.

Not much really here, hidden little pavillion off the Rockcliffe parkway. Only takes a few minutes to look at the views and read the handful of info signs. Limited parking if it is busy.

This park has some great views across to the city and to Quebec but we were lucky to visit in the autumn when the colours were spectacular. It's a short drive from the centre of town but seems like a hundred miles away.

Rockcliffe Park and the Rockeries and owned and managed by the National Capital Commission in Ottawa. Onsite is a beautiful, old, heritage Pavilion that was built in 1918. It is often used for summer Wedding ceremonies. There is no electricity or water available, but there are public washrooms.

The Park has something for everyone. There is a dense, forested area where you will feel like you would feel like you were out in the wilderness, were it not for the surrounding noise of traffic in the city. There are trails and lookouts along the Ottawa River where you can cycle, walk, or drive. I can't think of a better place to have a barbeque or picnic in Ottawa during summer. Picnic tables are available on a limited basis.

Look out over the Ottawa River where it meets the Gatineau River and imagine the logs coming down the river from the MacLaren logging company in Quebec. Imagine birchbark canoes instead of modern powerboats, tour boats, etc. that you will see now.

The park is a Photographer's dream!

In winter, the area behind the Pavilion becomes an "unofficial" tobogganing hill that is not too high and just the right height for children. Supervision is necessary though, as there are some trees so parents have fun with your kids!

There are a few parking spots available in summer, but the parkway through the park is closed off in winter. You must park on Lisgar Road and walk into the park. It's also a great place for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, walking or just nature watching!

The park is adjacent to the heritage Village of Rockcliffe and New Edinburgh, the original Bytown in Ottawa. During the early 1900s there was a man-made ski jump in the park where the skier would land on the ice of the Ottawa River. The New Edinburgh-Rockcliffe line of the Ottawa Electric Streetcar Co. was opened in 1893.

It is the perfect spot for everyone, couples, families with children, athletes, nature lovers, anyone!

One of the best things is that you are only a few minutes walk from the Prime Minister's residence, Rideau Hall, Rideau Falls, the French Embassy, New Edinburgh and Confederation Blvd.

You must visit this wonderful oasis in the middle of our Capital!
