a Company of Fools has been delighting audiences all across Canada since 1990 as Ottawa’s original professional Shakespeare company. Inspired by the rogue Elizabethan players that once entertained audiences out of doors and at the Globe theatre, we have built a reputation as a highly physical troupe doing interactive shows both indoors and out. Catch our latest show A Midsummer Night's Dream from July 3rd-August 19th 2017!

This Shakespeare in the park group is talented and their presentation is wonderfully entertaining. During July and August they perform in many Ottawa parks.

I have seen 3 different summer productions - all have been great. They perform in city parks, so look for posters during the summer or check their website. The 2015 production of Comedy of Errors was excellent. Highly recommend getting to the park an hour before the show start time to put down your blanket or lawn chairs. Bring a picnic/take-out and relax.

Shakespeare in the park - many diverse outdoor locations in the Ottawa area. There is a company of six young talents, playing perhaps twenty roles - with the flavour of The Bard, but more current, more inspired, more irreverent. We saw Merry Wives - fabulous, but I was thrilled because one sweet young lady had appeared in 2010 in Midsummer Night's Dream, and we had a great catch-up. If you're not a Shakespeare NUT, this will grab you because everybody's having so much fun.
