We are blessed in Ottawa to have such a wonderful pathway along the Ottawa river. It is a very popular pathway for recreational outdoor enthusiasts. Unfortunately you need to share the path with cyclists, runners and walkers. Which for the most part is OK but especially watch for the cyclists who think they can go 40km/hour and zoom past you.... I love this parkway. Beautiful road, scenic view and beaches, great walkway and a super Sunday spot. Grab a bike next weekend and enjoy the parkway and all its beauty.

Drive it slow, look at the majestic Ottawa River flowing past to the north. Marvel at its flow and strength. Stop at the numerous parks, beaches, lookouts along its length. It ends much too soon at Carling Ave. in the south but if you head the otherway you are treated to a less urban view, across the water toward Buckingham.... More

If you have visitors to take across town from Parliament Hill to the west side, take this route. Peaceful river countryside right in the city.

Once upon a time, this green byway was the star attraction and serene avenue into a great city. Today, it's a busy highway that is dangerous, polluted and heavily trafficked. The only times to truly enjoy it are early mornings and Sundays when cyclists dominate but beware - many consider it their private thoroughfare and make walking the paths very... More

We live facing this "Parkway".The noise from the buses wake us up starting with weekday rush hours. The bus traffic noise is the worst offender.Buses on the parkway were supposed to be temporary.Pity it didn't turn out that way. This route has turned out to be the preferred route from the western 'burbs through our 'hood. The Sunday Bike days make automobile travel... We drove along and stopped at a few parks. It made me wish we had brought our bicycles because the area services riders quite well. The parks and trails are between the road and the river, so the views and vistas are much better if you get out of the car and into the air

The view is really nice and there are number of parking areas to stop and take a break. The bicycle are kept in good condition. Great place to unwind - with the view of the river it is easy to you forget your in the city.
