We just love to use this parkway to go downtown. It's my favorite! I love looking at the Rideau Canal all the way. Since it's not really a highway, people take their sweet time and follow the limit. There is also a bike/walk pathway along the Canal.

Lovely along the Ottawa river. Scenery is beautiful. Lots of places to stop along the river. And not far from anywhere in the city.

Usually a way to avoid traffic congestion! Most of the dying ash trees have been removed. Great vistas of the Ottawa river while journeying along the parkland of its southern shore. There is a beach which on a hot day attracts many locals.

One of Ottawa's little gems. Ether walking, biking or driving this is a must if in Ottawa's west end. It fallows the grand Ottawa River with park to stop and see the sites.

As a well-travelled Canadian I think Ottawa is the worst designed capital city in the Western world, and a good example are the 'parkways'...highways that run from the centre of the town through empty bush with no development or commercial activity allowed. A total mosquito infested wasteland that people speed to get through. Waste of space.

A lovely spot to stroll on the banks of the river. Be careful of speeding bikes. A great walk with great views. Do itZ,

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. On a perfect day, we rode along the parkway. There are many places to stop off to enjoy a picnic or look out on the view of the Ottawa River. Take the time yo stop off and visit with the RCMP horses. There are free shows but not while we visited.... More

We are blessed in Ottawa to have such a wonderful pathway along the Ottawa river. It is a very popular pathway for recreational outdoor enthusiasts. Unfortunately you need to share the path with cyclists, runners and walkers. Which for the most part is OK but especially watch for the cyclists who think they can go 40km/hour and zoom past you.... I love this parkway. Beautiful road, scenic view and beaches, great walkway and a super Sunday spot. Grab a bike next weekend and enjoy the parkway and all its beauty.

Drive it slow, look at the majestic Ottawa River flowing past to the north. Marvel at its flow and strength. Stop at the numerous parks, beaches, lookouts along its length. It ends much too soon at Carling Ave. in the south but if you head the otherway you are treated to a less urban view, across the water toward Buckingham.... More
