Ottawa is one of the cities in Canada with some actual history. This is one of the highlights. Nice architecture and a nice place to walk around.

Nice place to visit when you are in Ottawa. Just walking you can see a lot of interesting building and the change of guards.

I loved the super informative tour of the Parliament building and the peace tower, obviously, but the best part was the Northern Lights (a light and sound show about Canada's history) and the changing of the Canadian guards. Both of these are so incredibly cool and great for families. Each show is about a half an hour, and so it... More

Did the 10PM light show... great history mixed with entertainment. Saw changing of the guard, get there by 945AM to see them marching in for 10AM . We went on free Parlaiment tour -- get tickets early, before 10AM, on Wellington directly opposite Parlaiment, they run out sometimes, long lines. There are different Parlaiment tours, we went on Center tour,... More

Two very nice attractions during summer time at the front yard of the Parliament are: CHANGING OF THE GUARD ceremonies and the SOUND AND LIGHTS EVENING SHOW. Try to get there 15 minutes earlier, to get a good spot! They are free and it is quite a show!

We took a tour of the center block. First you meet at the big flag pole and meet your guides. They initially speak English and French to ensure everyone understands in which group they should be. You have to pass through security, which is only a bag check and metal detector. You then wait into a room until your group... More

In July the light and history show starts at 10. We got there at 9 to pick a good spot and get settled. Bring a blanket and snacks and enjoy the music before hand! The light show and information is great and free! It lasts about 30 minutes. Parking at city hall for the day on the weekends was just... More

It is always nice to come to parliament when in Ottawa. The grounds are beautiful and the architecture is magnificent. If you want to visit the Centre Block or East Block it's best to arrive early. Doors open at 9 and tickets go quick, it's on a first come first served basis. The guided tours are interesting and its great... More
