What a Nice Visit for Children to see Farm Animals

If you have urban children, what a great visit to a real farm and with farm animals to see being fed and to pet.

It's Canada what can you say Provinces of Farmland and we need on in the middle of a capital city!? If you have visited a farm this is dry as ditch water. If you were born in the Glebe and never stepped off pavement you may find this riveting... or you could drive out of town 5 min and visit... More

There is an entrance fee and a parking fee. You can buy annual memberships of various kinds. Has an outdoor play area, exhibits of all the farm animals: horses, dairy cows and calves, pigs and piglets, rabbits and chickens. Big tractors to climb on and a bee exhibit. Most weekends their are special demonstrations. Not bad for flower lovers either has... More

Something for everyone and interesting activities during every season. The Farm's Ice Cream Festival is one of their best events in summer but there's something very special about visiting in the Fall. The Arboretum is gorgeous any season. Kids will love the outdoor play structure/sand.

Acres of farmland in the heart of the city draw people on bicycles, those out for a run or a stroll and some who are walking their dogs. Enjoying a break from city traffic, this is neither a crowded nor a desolated place for locals to enjoy some pleasant exercise. Dogs are permitted as long as they are on leash.... More

We visited on a rainy Sunday and brought a picnic. Other reviews said there is no food to buy which is correct. If you time it right, you might get a free cookie or cheese and bacon biscuit at the demonstration kitchen in the barn where there is a bee display and a tractor display. No live bees ... Just... Wonderful open space in the middle of the city. Great place for a walk in the park. Make sure that you visit the greenhouses and the arboretum. Take a walk through the public gardens alongside Prince of Wales. Also do not overlook the Fletcher wildlife garden.

Or if you are a kid at heart. Particularly fun in the spring when there are newborn animals. Great place to let your kids exercise their photo skills... can be fun to look later at what they thought was of merit to take a picture of!

When I visited, the peonies were in full bloom and stunning. My eyes, and nose and camera were very busy walking through their ranks in this beautiful setting. It was a pleasure to sit and enjoy them and I met a lovely woman sitting contemplating many hours spent there with her husband before he passed away. This might seem sad... More

We visited here with our 15 month old. She loved it and we spend a long time looking at the various animals - cows, sheep, goats, rabbits, horses, chickens, donkey, alpaca and pigs - which were all really close up, calm and friendly. There is also a great play park for kids and various activities for older kids around the... More
