A good review of history, architecture and toponomy of the Parliament Hill area. Good value for your money. Even though there wasn’t a tour offered for the day we wanted, we contacted the organization. They did everything to accommodate us. Thank you for a great tour.

We were lucky enough to have owner Craig in a small group. He is a local high school history teacher who knows his town and Canadian history. We loved getting the scoop on the fine points of the Canadian governmental system. He's also a student of American government and politics so can astutely point out the differences. Great for American... More

Though Ottawa is my hometown, I was surprised by how much I didn't know about it. Thankfully, owner Craig MacDonald was there to fill in the gaps. We had visitors from Michigan. That's the reason we arranged the tour, and I am so glad that we did. We were able to "stop and smell the roses" and learn about buildings... More

We only had 1 day in Ottawa and thought a tour that advertised seeing the major historic landmarks would be an efficient way to see the city. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The tour guide was 45 minutes late! We then spent 1.5 hours going around the block, where we spent much of that time on a commercial pedestrian walkway. The... More

We met across the street from the changing of the guard ceremony at the Terry Fox sculpture. Our tour guide was Katherine. She is very knowledgeable and well versed in Ottawa history. Tour lasted about two hours. Would highly recommend the tour if you want an overview of the government's buildings and how the Canadian branches of government work. We... More

I took the walking tour even though I have lived in Ottawa for ten years. It is a great way to get to know the history of the city. Alison was very informative and knowledgeable. The day was hot but the pace was very comfortable. The tour allowed me to discover all the wonderful things Ottawa has to offer not... More

Walking tours are a great introduction to a city you're visiting, and Ottawa Walking Tours did a good job bringing us up to speed. Met in a convenient, prominent and well marked spot. We had about 10 people in our group, and if that's a typical size for this outfit, you'll appreciate the rapport and ability to ask questions. Owner... More
