Good place for lunch

We went to this old pub for lunch two weeks ago. We got there a bit early so it wasn't very busy. All four of us had the fish and chips. The single piece of fish is more than... read more

Our last 3 times for lunches with out of town guests has been very poor. The food, prime rib, was over cooked and very dry. The gravy tasted like canned gravy over instant potatoes. The corned beef was also very dry....what restaurant serves corned beef without cole slaw...not even on the menu!! Very disappointing since new owners have taken over.

The Olde Angel Inn, in the incredibly charming town of Ontario-on-the-Lake, offers the perfect evening experience. Start with a beer or wine from their extensive list; follow with dinner, some dishes reflecting the 18th century of the building like the Plowman's Dinner; end up dancing to live music on their small but big enough dance floor. There is also a... More

What a great place! The place is here forever and it is just great. It is a very authentic pub, where even the guest seem to be Irish. A real fun place. life music on weekends.

We had dinner at The Olde Angel Inn and it was super delicious. We absolutely loved it. The Stuffed mushrooms, Mushroom soup, fisherman's pie and Brownie was DELICOUS. The atmosphere is really warm and pleasant. There is fire place as well but you have to reserve to get that spot as we went on a busy time. I/we would definitely... More

We ate here on September 26 during a visit to the town. It was raining and we ducked into a store and asked for restaurant recommendations that weren't touristy. We were directed to the Olde Angel Inn which is popular with the locals. It is just like an English pub. My reuben sandwich was the best I have ever had.... More

After dining at all the formal expensive restaurants, our favorite was this tavern. It had a lot of charm and the food, especially the "Fisherman's Seafood Pie" was delicious. Great ambience and great prices. I'd go back in a flash when I return to this quaint hidden gem in Canada. - Karen Carr

We stayed at the inn and partied in the pub with great live music, staff and clientèle Friday and Saturday night. It's definitely the hot spot for night life. Jammed on Friday night and very busy Saturday night. Well be going back forsure! Wear your dancing shoes. LOL

I visited the Olde Angel Inn on a busy Saturday night on Labour Day weekend. It was extremely busy but the staff were friendly and happy. I had their famous Fish & Chips along with a couple of pints of Rosarda (raspberry beer from Belgium) DELICIOUS!!! Definitely a MUST VISIT when you come to Niagara On The Lake.
