This was a fantastic experience! There was 4 of us on the ride (couples) and the host was very patient with us as 2 in the group had never rode horses before. The horses were beautiful.
A full 2 hours ride in the woods.
I fully recommend this if in Canada.

I was really nervous at first as it was my very first horse back riding, but the experience turned out to be one of the most memorable ones of my life. The host/owner Dinah was really good at teaching the basic tips of how to work with the horses. She also shared a lot of stories with her horses too. The ride was about 1 hour long, and the trail was really beautiful. I felt like a fairytale. The horses have great temperament and great for beginners. I definitely recommend it and I would love to go back in the future.

Had an amazing time with my girlfriend. Staff was friendly and social. The trails were a blast and kept you waiting what was around the corner. Will definitely be going back again soon. Highly recommend booking a ride here.

Overall we were *very* disappointed in our attempt in riding with Niagara Riding Stables!
My partner and I went over the St. Valentines Weekend, hoping for a romantic guided ride through the woods and vineyards. Instead we received poor instruction, poor safety and a extremely disappointing experience.
Firstly, the "stables" are quite ramshackle. The entire barn is threatening to fall over. This farm is not in good condition, and I question the care the animals receive in such a poor facility.
Onwards, we were asked to fill in a disclaimer and put on a helmet. That was the extent of our instructions. My partner had never been on horseback before, and was a little uncomfortable. There was no effort made to reassure her, or give her a little/any instruction.
The poor planning was readily evident. My partner and I were separated to either ends of the trail ride. So much for a romantic activity together! We were placed on horses that did not like each other. Why we would be given such horses, when we were clearly there for a romantic event is mind boggling.
As to the actual trail ride, well, with no instruction given, the beginner riders were completely lost. The horses would walk into trees, and off the path, and the poor riders had no idea what to do. All Dinah could do was curse, both horse and rider! It was an unmitigated disaster.
I know that several of the women on the ride were injured (mildly, bruises) by the misbehavior of the animals. Now, I understand that the animals have their own brains and are not simply robots, but a little instruction on basic horseback riding would have made the event *so* much better.
At the conclusion, we were not even able to get pictures of us on horseback together, as the two horses did not like each other! Again, a romantic experience ruined.
Needless to say, I spent the remainder of the weekend fetching painkillers for my partner from all the bruises from misbehaved animals.

I've been horseback riding with my daughter for many years but only recently discovered this wonderful trail riding facility in nearby Niagara On The Lake.
From the moment we arrived our experience was nothing short of spectacular. We were greeted by Dinah, our friendly and knowledgeable trail guide, and introduced to some of the most beautiful horses we have ever seen. The bonus to this trail ride though, was the location. It’s situated right along the Niagara Escarpment. On our trail ride, Dinah pointed out a family of deer grazing in the forest, some wild turkeys, and also informed us that the Bruce Trail ran through that area of the escarpment. There was lot’s to see. The rare Hart’s Tongue Fern, trilliums in full bloom and a forest setting that would rival any. It’s like a small piece of heaven.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing way to spend some time away from the typical tourist fare in the area, this is the place to visit. I highly recommend it!

We live in upstate NY and decided to take a drive along the seaway trail then across the boarder to Niagara on the lake. My husband and two boys 11/12 and I were looking on line for "what to do" wine tours didn't intrest us, and we have been to the falls numerous times and then we saw Niagara Riding Stables.
DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER~!!!
The Farm it self needs some work, and the young woman running the show is extreamly accomadating, and takes EXCELLENT care of her horses and there riders. I have had other experiences at stables that look like thousand dollar stables, and I have NEVER seen so much love and passion in a individual for there animals. I would love more people to visit Niagara Riding Stables so the owner can remodel and fix up the area to be more eye appealing. Neither one of my boys has EVER rode a horse, and George and Cody were as sweet, and funny as any horse I have ever met. Each horse has it's own personality, and they were in excellent condition, and not high strung or skiddish, just calm gentle beasts. The ride was over an hour long and it was just beautiful lush woods with trails.
Take a day, take the kids, drive to Niagara Riding Stables, and see what Down to Earth really means. I have inclosed several pictures for you pleasure.

This was just an awesome trip. On this trip I went with my boyfriend, who has never been on a horse before, and was actually scared of horses/heights before this trip. I've always loved horses and so I dragged him along on this excursion.
So when we got there we were greeted with this really nice lady, she had dark hair, I BELIEVE her name is Katie but I'm not entirely sure because we went during the Summer. We went on the ride with two little girls that their parents brought(they didn't join). Me and my boyfriend were at the back of the line and the horses they we were riding were just stunning. I had a pretty good laugh because my boyfriend was put on the largest horse they have. I was kind of jealous because he was just incredible. We didn't let the lady know he wasn't fond of horses or heights so she didn't do it on purpose.
I particularly enjoyed my horse as well, they all have differently personality's. My boyfriend got the last laugh because my horse didn't always listen to my direction and went a different direction then all the other riders. Which he continued to express how she's just like her rider.
The instructor was fantastic about safety and always had an eye on us since we were in the back. My boyfriend felt comfortable and had a great time as well.
I would definitely suggest to wear bug spray as your going through some heavily wooded area's. I think it was just an incredible ride to be able to get away from the city and just enjoy the outdoors and a new experience. I'm from Niagara Falls, so I will definitely be back this summer.
We had an awesome talk with the instructor at the end of the ride for about 20 minutes and it was just a great end to the day. And for the price! It was only 45$ each, which is the best price your going to get in the area.
Thanks so much for the experience!

This was my girlfriend and I's first horseback riding experience. We couldn't have asked for a better one! Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to accurately pair us with a horse according to their personalities. The trail was a beautiful, hilly excursion through the forest along the niagara escarpment. The price was very reasonable as well.

I've been to the Niagra Riding Stables three times now with my husband and two teenagers as well as adult friends of ours. Everyone enjoyed the experience! The horses are so calm and tame, they know the riding course to perfection so you do not need to worry if you have little or no riding experience. Dinah is a welcoming, wonderful guide as well. Make sure you bring your camera for plenty of memories. You will not be sorry!

This was a great experience. Being fr. Jersey we dont get to do things like this often ... this was much better than anything i expected.
I think the great part of it was how authentic the riding was. Dont expect a commercialized riding tour. You drive up into a dirt parking lot with a house and a barn. You hear the donkey in the background, you see the dog chained up. You almost might think you're in the wrong place! But you've found it, A hidden treasure!
Since we were the last tour of the day our tourguide thought she would take us on a new trail that would combine the vineyards as well as the woods. So our tour lasted a little longer than expected - and we enjoyed every minute of it. Very relaxing, the horses are well trained (though they will try to take advantage of you & eat as much grass as you'll allow them to).
Be sure to wear jeans/pants/sneakers and be ready to get your hands a little dirty.
The experience was very worthwhile. Brock and Winston took good care of their riders!

Our trail takes approximately 45-50 minutes and the cost is $50 plus tax per person. We are roughly twenty minutes from down town Niagara Falls.

From the looks of your pictures it seems as though during the Trail rides the horses are riden in western. Do you offer English riding as well? Also, are you open on October 8th this year?

Hi, I am looking to find a place that my three year old grandson could have a short ride with a pony. Does the stables do anything like this? If not do you know where we could go? Thank you so much !

I’m sorry I don’t have ponies anymore. Children are required to be 10 years of age to ride with us. Try the Warner pumpkin farm for pony rides at 905-384-2684.
