Toured the fort using their informative self guided tour folder. Docents at several locations add informatin and are friendly. We were fortunate to be in town for the Celtic Festival at the fort and it was very nice. A "name" group performed in the afternoon and local volunteer groups and dance studios performed before and after. Nice big main tent... More

We visited on Canada Day and admission was free! Enjoyed a picnic lunch on the grounds - picnic tables are in the shade, close to the parking lot and washrooms. The grounds and facilities were clean and well maintained. We spent a few hours wandering through the various buildings reading the information posted and enjoyed several live demonstatrions. Had we... More

Really enjoyed the ghost walk. The guide was awesome. She not only was very knowledgeable but you could tell she had a love and passion for the history and what she was doing.

My son and I went to tour Fort George and e found it very interesting! Most of the tour was self guided so you could at your own pace. The docents that were located throughout we friendly, informative and seemed to enjoy what they were doing! We thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Yes, a real wooden fort, just like in the movies. This one was used in the war of Independence. Walls, gates, canons almost just like it was when it was built.

Fort George is really worth the visit while in the Niagara region. Although you need to pay for parking, the cost of parking is refunded when you pay your admittance to the park. And the parking lot is near enough to the Festival Theatre and downtown to easily walk. The static and interactive displays are nicely done but the real... More

The reenactors really make this worth while. The fort is large and interesting on its own with a nicely done exhibit on the War of 1812 as well as walk through buildings staged as they were during the period. But the history comes to life through the reenactors from the fife and drums and flag raising to the lesson on... More

My father was excited to see this old fort. It was well run by people representing the time of the was of 1812 who gave us information at some of the buildings on site. This is an interesting place for the whole family if your into history. Paid parking and plenty of it. You can walk to town from here.

Such a wonderfully historic fort that is very "hands" on, staffed by knowledgeable individuals. We were there for just over 3 hrs and had such a great time seeing everything from the housing for enlisted men and officers. Learning about the war of 1812, history of the region and the Military's part in it, just everything! If you like Historic... More
