Went for dinner with friends. Always good food and service! The atmosphere is very nice but comfortable as well. I visit strewen at least twice a year when we have girls weekend at Niagara on the Lake. I highley recommend eating here.
We came here today as part of the Niagara Icewine Festival, and the time spent here was lovely. The icewine was paired with a great chocolate mousse! They were even working in the winery behind the tasting area, which was cool. Nice visit!
Small, personable winery with superb cooking school, execellent food and good wine. Owners are personable, available and committed. Cooking school and its events are unique and fun. Wines are intriguing and well priced.
I stopped in with a friend the other day, and we were greeted by Mary at the bar. She was incredibly knowledgeable and warm, and gave really interesting facts about each of the wines (like how there are 2 Cabernet Sauvignons, each after different soils...More
Loved Mary! She was amazing and had great recommendations for wine for us to try and also had great stories. The muscat is completely different from any other ive tried! Highly recommend stopping by here and seeing her
I highly recommend Strewn Winery Cooking School in Niagara on the Lake. Jane and her team put on a day that was fun, a great learning experience, delicious and hands on from beginning to end. We met amazing people and had a memorable lunch with...More
Great little winery with nice selection of white, red, ice wines and delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars.
Beautiful grounds, nice restaurant and friendly helpful staff
Worth a side trip if you’re in the Niagara area.
We always come here because the wines are always very good. This year we were pleasantly surprised to see multiple "brands," offering varied pricing but also varieties.
Again, nice to see a lack of "uppityness" if you're sincerely seeking to sample wines to buy. The...More
Like many of the roads in this area, all of the routes from the "old town" to the winery are paved two lanes (one each direction) with very little shoulder.

Well, the trip is over and I had a great time! Thought I'd let everyone know how it went..... First of all, Hillside Haven is an AMAZING place to stay and I recommend it so highly. The property is really pretty on a very green country stretch of road very close to Flat Rock Cellars. You get your own little apartment separate from the owners home that has so many thoughtful touches I couldn't even mention them all here. From satellite television, to a skylight, to a really nicely stocked...More

Hi Kate~ Great trip report with lots of details----thanks for checking back. Glad to hear the Hillside Haven B&B worked out so well. Sounds like a real find.....did you write a review here for them? Vineland Estates is gorgeous isn't it, and we have always been very pleased with the dining room experience for lunch, dinner or even with their artisan cheese plate in the afternoon. We enjoy the wines too. ;) I haven't tried Zees but glad to hear you enjoyed it there as well----I know...More
NOTL - B&B "The Front Porch" (1 Replies)
We recently returned from a long weekend at NOTL. We stayed at "The Front Porch" B&B and I feel compelled to share our experience with fellow travellers. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished. However, the host neglected to inform me when I made the reservations that she would be hosting a 30+ person Rehearsal Dinner party our first night (she also neglected to tell us where the bikes were and other such details). This really put a damper on the evening as I specifically selected...More

We have just spent two fantastic nights at the Britaly Bed and Breakfast in Niagara on the Lake. The house and gardens are beautiful. The hosts Graham and Aldo are so welcoming and kind. The bedrooms and guest lounge are very pretty and what can I say about the breakfasts!! Graham makes homemade to die for Granola and muffins- Blueberry one day, apple the next. Then Aldo does a hot course which is delicious, then fresh fruit and yoghurt to finish with. We didn't need anything to eat for the...More
