You get to wait for the tour in the main shop area which has five different free samples to try (Yay!) If you are on a budget, this is a quick and cheap thing to do with the family. You get to learn about the basic processes for chocolate. There is a giant container of slag bags which is their... More

We've been here a few times; they have some interesting chocolate treats with plenty of free samples to help you decide what you'd like to buy! While its not cheap, its sometimes worth it to indulge yourself : )

The tour involves a 15 minute talk about chocolate in a hallway with a viewing window to the chocolate making room. Then after the talk you can receive your free chocolate truffle or chocolate covered strawberry. There is a wall with 5 vending machines for chocolate samples. A great stop for kids and chocolate lovers. I got the free tour... More

With our Prince of Wales Hotel package we were offered a voucher for a tour of the Chocolate FX factory. It was a short tour with a very friendly, fun hostess. She explained the Chocolate process from tree to consumption. The Chocolate samples were great and the chocolate covered strawberry was delicious. The factory store has a little of everything... The tour was short and would have been dull if not for the awkward moments. The guide mentions that they derive their chocolate from the Ivory Coast, an area with terrible labour abuses. Faces dropped and one African-American family looked livid. The guide immediately tried to distract the group by talking about what the company does for the local community.... More

The Ivory Coast is a large place, and yes there are terrible labour abuses, but our chocolate comes from Blommer. Blommer’s Sustainable Origins™ programs reach from West Africa to the Americas and Indonesia. To date, 80,000 farmers participated in sustainability programs. It is a holistic approach designed to coordinate and align global cocoa sustainability efforts between industry members and the... More

We started going to Chocolate FX at the old location years ago and were thrilled when they moved to the new location. Always many items to choose from and SO many samples......at first. Now, the samples have dwindled to 5 samples available. Last Christmas there were many, many reasonably priced gifts to choose from but this year, we only found... More

I'm sorry about the samples but it started getting terrible we would have bus loads of people coming in and bring in cups and bags and while the store was busy empty all of the samples sometimes we would catch them but we couldn't catch them all. It got so bad that we had to stifle the supply of samples.... More

A trip to Chocolate FX is a must with every one of our visits to the Niagara area. I have done the tour a couple of times with different hotel packages and found it short and sweet (they give you samples at the end!). Now I usually opt out of the tour and just browse the store area. Don't let... More

We actually arrived after the last scheduled tour and Elvira gave us a personal tour anyway. It is very interesting how Cocoa Beans are made into Chocolate. She is the Best! I hope everyone can meet her that visits. The Chocolate samples are a great way to try before you buy.

The free samples alone make this a must see stop whole at Niagara on the Lake. Some samples delicious, some not so much but it may depend on your tastebuds! I found the prices very reasonable too!

This place is great, free tour and samples! Love the local and creative chocolate delights. From silly to dog friendly -worth checking out! Our Elvira was kind and taught me a few things to really appreciate chocolate more than I already did. Yes, they have mulch for your garden- I need this in the USA.
