About
Trius Winery is a Niagara winemaking pioneer. For more than 30 years, we have been crafting fine VQA wines from premium grapes grown in the four appellations of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Nestled between the Niagara escarpment and Lake Ontario, we have made our home in a wine growing region that provides the diversity to grow a number of varietals in unique growing conditions. Our winery provides both a wine and culinary journey like no other. A visit to Trius Winery is an unrushed sensory experience, a time out that lets you taste, feel and discover. Our wines and menus are inspired by the seasonal evolution of the vines that surround us, and the local produce that grows beside them. Our wines, our dining, and our daily events for the wine lover and Wine Club members make Trius Winery the perfect destination for your wine country visit.

I took my friend there for his birthday and the service was phenomenal. We received a glass of bubbly on the house which we were not expecting but we really appreciated.
Our server was awesome and very knowledgeable in wine pairings. The restaurant offered set menus which consisted of either a two course or three course meals. There was a nice amount of options to choose from and the food was really delicious.
On top of that as we ate in the restaurant we got $5.00 off to shop in their wine store. Wonderful selection of wines to choose from.
Thank you for making my friends birthday very memorable and special. We will be definitely coming back!!!

Atmosphere was a 4, service from Christine on our tasting was a 5!! Very knowledgeable, nice disposition, we liked the Riesling black label the best and the Trius Red out of all the reds we tried the best! Thanks, a nice afternoon.

We always enjoy our visits to Trius, a beautiful winery with fabulous wines...as usual went home with a few bottles. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Very poor service. We had booked a tasting and had arrived to the property 10-15 early. We were greeted and told to wait over a desk a few feet away. We waited past our scheduled time and several groups had arrived after us and were lead to their tables. We asked the reception ladies what was going on and they replied they have nothing to do with that part of the seating. We asked a few other people and nobody would take the time to help us. Very disappointed.

I had a most disappointing dinning experience at the Trius .They have a set menu and that is unacceptable 2 course or 3 with set prices ,they do not call it a set menu so be careful when booking .The food was ok neither my date or I finished the meal she had chicken I had halibut ,I have lived in NOTL 55 years and have eaten at the finest Trius you may have been that at one time but you are now just another Winery that serves there customers like a bus tour group/ˌset

We booked a tasting tour for 14 cousins ranging from 13 to 75 years of age. The tour exceeded our expectations. A well organized experience with beautiful spots throughout the winery and nice surprises along the way. Three of our guests were under drinking age and they were taken care of with sparkling “delicious” juice and even a taste of some cotton candy. Nice touch Trius! We made lasting memories and took many beautiful photos to capture the moment. We have booked many tours in the past and this is one I would strongly recommend to anyone visiting NOTL.

The only good thing about this fine is that they’re connected to Wayne Gratzky. You get two wineries in one shot. Wine tasting was full, you cannot get a spot. But you can get a glass of wine with no choices of wine for $15 each glass. got kicked out to drink it outside, one of our friends had a mobility issue but who cares no choice of wine overpriced and drink it outside. Paid $60 for four glasses of wine which we could not even select and were treated like second class guests. Not our type of place, we will not be back and do not recommend this place to anyone

Was very disappointed. The fries were the only saving grace. Skip this one as well as Peller and Gretzky. Head to Stratus of Big Head Wines for a true experience.

We went to Trius with the grape and wine festival discovery passport. It is a beautiful winery and is definitely set up for some instagramable moments. It was the only place (out of the 4) we went to that actually encouraged us to go out into the vineyard and explore. In fact they set up our tasting in the middle of it. We had deliciously creamy mushroom soup with goat’s cheese and truffle croutons paired with the Trius Distinction Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2020. It truly brought out the creamy flavours of the soup and I quickly understood the "easily paired with popcorn" suggestion. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only critique is that there were areas blocked off that would have been fun to explore but I can understand they kept them off limits for specific tours and experiences which was a bit of a bummer but just means we will have to return. Also, a little tid but, they have these non alcoholic sparkling lemonade and pink lemonade that are so delicious and I wish I bought more lol

We’ll this visit was not planned but what a great decision. Between three of us we quite a variety of wines and they certainly did not disappoint. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Oh and the truffle fries were amazing.

Are you able to have a picnic on the grounds with your own food and your wine?
Thank you for your question. Trius Winery has two restaurants to choose from and therefore we do not have areas available for private picnics.

Our Wine tastings are available at 10 am. Our tours start at 11 am and run all day.

I'm trying to work out a schedule for a trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake and thought about stopping by here for dinner.
Approximately how many hours did it take for you to get through the tasting menu dinner here from ordering to finish?

We booked a tour called "best in glass" for 6 pm and then a dinner for 7:30... this gave us time to check out the main tasting area and purchase some bottles before dinner. Then we had the 5 courses with wine pairing which was served at a comfortable leisurely pace. We finished our coffees around 10:30... but it could be a bit faster if you required.

I have been here a few times and absolutely love it! My husband and I are planning a return trip later this month and would like to stop for a glass of wine. Is this possible? We are interested in eating a meal rather relaxing with a glass of sparkling. Are glasses available for purchase?

We do not have a spot designated for just enjoying a glass of wine as of yet. You can however sit on our patio and enjoy something off our sharable menu and have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. You could also visit Gretzky next door and enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail. I hope this helps.

Are tastings only available when you do a tour?

If you would like to visit and only do a tasting we have two tasting bars for you to sample wine. The tastings are $7 to try three wines and if you purchase a bottle of wine we will rebate you the $7. If you visit our upstairs Loft, the tastings are $10 as the wine is from our premium line and the rebate is still $7. We hope to see you soon. You do not need to book ahead so come on in!

When we were in the area last summer we used Grape Escape Tours. I'm not sure if they will shuttle you to and from your hotel as we were within walking distance of their office. The trip was great, I think we went to 5 wineries!
We will be visiting the winery for a work event, cocktail party and dinner. How should we dress?
