Bird Kingdom is a CAZA accredited facility. CAZA is the Canadian Association Of Zoos and Aquariums and this organization is made of of professional that make policies, standards and ethics pertaining to all aspects of a zoo as well as encouraging education and conservation.
Bird Kingdom obtains our animals three ways:
• Trading with other zoological facilities or participating in Species Survival Programs
• Breeding of our animals at the zoo
• Donations from private owners
We have an Animal Care Committee and Veterinarian that reviews any new acquisitions before they are accepted to ensure the animal can be properly cared for at Bird Kingdom.
Bird Kingdom is always looking to improve the lives of our animals through upgrading enclosures, enrichment, nutrition, medical care and having educated staff. Conservation and educating our guests is very important as we try to inspire everyone to take care of the earth.
There is a lot of walking, and you will want to take your time to see all of the exhibits. You can go as slow as you like, but if he has difficulty walking for 1-2 hours, take a wheelchair and enjoy yourselves!
