Did the Newfoundland Circumnavigation. NFLD has been on our bucket list for years, and what a way to have a unique first look! So many special experiences, from up-close to icebergs in the zodiacs, to a real Pow-Wow, excellent (and always too much!) food, featuring NL specialties including moose, lobster and cod and other fish (we happen to love seafood....). Kitchen parties sprang up as there were lots of musicians on board, lots of Newfoundlanders on staff to make shore excursions so much more interesting and informative, and lots of choice for hikes and activities. So many enjoyable times it's hard to pick out just one! St Pierre/Miquelon on their Bastille Day! Tons of seabirds (with every type identified for us) whales spouting, icebergs, the sobering L'Anse Aux Meadows and so much more. We're already looking at what our next trip will be. Well done again, AC staff! Thanks for the experience!

Our eleven-day Newfoundland expedition was everything we hoped for and more. The smooth-sailing skipper and crew of Ocean Endeavour were as superb as their vessel, taking us close around icebergs and deep into narrow fjords. The Adventure Canada staff was pure excellence, especially its leadership team which included numerous down-home Newfoundlanders among its cast of specialists, many of whom were also fine musicians. Kitchen parties were common. The expedition aspect made the journey -- almost daily Zodiac excursions ashore and route changes to accommodate special interests such as magnificent icebergs. Bravo!

We had the pleasure of travelling with Adventure Canada on their Newfoundland Circumnavigation trip this month. It was absolutely great. Exceeded all of our expectations! The expedition experts on board taught us so much (with lots of laughs) and they were all musicians as welll! After busy days exploring Gros Morne park, L'Anse aux Meadows, St. Pierre & Miquelon, Francois, cruising the fjords at Lahune Bay and the Miawpukek pow-wow at Conne River, we could expect a spontaneous 'Kitchen Party' to break out in the lounge!! We also enjoyed scrumptious meals including seafood from the 'Taste of Place' program... lobster brunch for instance! We will definitely go back to both Newfoundland AND another Adventure Canada trip.

Haida art drew me to this trip. Now I can say Haida culture has drawn me to the art. Bountiful learning. Not just from exploring villages with the ‘watchmen’, but also birding, flora, and fauna. Notably - thrilled for the two puffin species (horned and tufted), pigeon guillemots, and rhinoceros auks. Also spotted three Haida black bear and Sitka deer. Marine-wise - humpback whales, Steller sea lions, harbour seals, sea stars, crabs, snails, and urchins. And so much more! Thanks to world class naturalist Danny Catt, Skipper Neil and crew for an extraordinary adventure.

After 2 years of cancelled travel plans, with great hopes for a safe adventure, hubby & I selected our second Adventure Canada cruise. It wasn't entirely their fault by any means, but our trip was a disaster. Hubby tested + for covid on the 3rd day out and had to isolate in his cabin for the entire 12 day trip. Due to lack of adequate temperature control, he was uncomfortably hot for a good part of that time. I had to isolate for 3 days in another cabin although I tested - throughout. Without hubby, I was on my own for the rest of the trip. Not fun. Other reviewers have already commented on the ship's shortcomings. They were more numerous than on our past trip. Constant ongoing repair work was often very noisy. We were without electricity one night. There were a number of unplanned changes and cancellations of programming which seemed to be catching the staff flat-footed. The 2 bus-based land tours I took were disappointing. I understand that it's difficult for a small company with an old ship to start up after 2 years being down. I understand that the staff was under Canadian health regulations for handling COVID cases on the ship. Nonetheless, this was an expensive trip, a lot of wasted money. My hubby was effectively jailed for 9 days and I for 3. After those 3 days staff ignored me, never thinking that the situation was spoiling my expensive trip, too. Cabin attendants and dining room staff were making an effort to make the best trip possible, but it didn't make up for all the disappointments. Not to mention that it was miserable to have to be masked all the time. Since returning home, Adventure Canada has not reached out to us in any way, and I know we weren't the only ones who got caught up in all the aforementioned problems and disappointments. Other cruises I've heard about have not fared much better. So, I'd recommend postponement for everyone. Ship-based trips aren't ready for prime time yet. Their destinations and ports of call aren't ready for tourism. All the masks and vaccinations in the world won't eliminate your risk.

Dear Sally, I understand how these disruptions to your expedition would be disappointing. We apologize you felt unsupported during each of your respective isolations. We’ll reach out directly to gather additional feedback on how the unfortunate experience of isolation can be improved.
