Best of all it is free ! No matter the weather, anyone who takes the trip gets to see Canada's roots, history wrapped around a sense of what makes the region and our Country a special place on earth. All condensed into a twenty minute ride where within a five minute walk on either side you can have some homespun... More

The ferry to Wolfe Island runs every hour or 2, provides some great views of Royal Military College and Fort Henry, as well as 4 of the 1000 Islands and is free (as part of the provincial transportation system). In the summer, the dock on Wolfe Island is minutes from the Marysville 'hub' on foot...in winter, you should drive. In... More

This 55 car ferry that runs hourly (5:45am-2am) by an efficient MTO crew is a great way to get to Wolfe Island. Follow the signs on the dock for direction and rules/regulations or in the summer months you can speak to an employee directly in the terminal. There are benches outside on the upper level decks to sit and enjoy... More

It was great that we could take the car across to the island. The water was nice and it was a free boat ride. We drove around the island and looked at the sites. The pub near the ferry dock was very inviting and the food was homemade.

This state funded service runs throughout the year and represents a different age of travel- who needs to take boat these days-Well if you want to visit Wolffe Island you do!It runs about once an hour but you need to check the sailing timings in advance. Great fun especially with kids.

Myself and a couple friends took our bikes and boarded the ferry. We toured the island then had lunch at a pub beside the ferry dock. All in all a very enjoyable day.

Always fun to take a free ferry ride across the water to Wolfe Island. you can go by foot or car. In the summer it lands in a small village on Wolfe Island where you can find a general store, several little cafes or restaurants which overlook the river. Drive around the island or just visit the village. Either way,... More
