The park has numerous activities, including hiking/walking, boating, camping and picnicking. The park seems spacious, and was not too busy on Sunday, Sept 11. Overall we enjoyed the time at the park, although there were signs of people not picking after their dogs. I would recommend that the park should be pet-free.

We visited on a Sunday with 3 other families. We used to camp here often when our boys were little but have not been here in about 7 years. The beach is a nice size although the sand is not that nice, and the bottom of the lake is muddy so the water gets very cloudy and there was green... More

We visited Valens and enjoyed this conservation area. The entry fee was typical-$10.00 for car and driver and $5.00 for each passenger. There are no lifeguards but a buoy line is set up for a large swimming area. There are plenty of garbage containers scattered around the beach area. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and, no matter what time we... More

We love provincial parks but not the declining standards of camper etiquette and park security's tendency to ignore noise and other behaviours that take away from others enjoyment of the park. Valens gets it right though - some camping areas there are radio free but there is also a year-round alcohol ban in effect. You will not have to deal... More

We have done a lot of Ontario Provincial Parks and find them to be of good quality but now that we have tried Valens we know that there is a very good alternative. The sites were very clean, spacious and well situated in our campgrounds and there was lots to do and see. Given that this is basically a reservoir... More

We've camped at Valens a few times. There is a nice beach with a lot of shallow area for the little ones. For those who like to fish there are several docks to fish off. Last time there we rented kayaks and spent a few hours paddling up and down the lake. There are also canoes available to rent. The... More

The beach is clean and shallow, a great place for young children to play. After beach we went on a trail and saw lots of frogs!

We spent 2 nights at Valens and am planning another trip in a couple weeks. The lot we had was very large and nicely shaded. It had 2 picnic tables, a fire pit and was close to the washrooms. Great spot! The beach was excellent to spend the day at and the bridge is great for some fishing. We didn't... More

We have been going to Valens for almost 15 years now. We take our young kids ages 2 and 7. There is nice trails in this park as well as a great beach. Camping here is also great. We have always found this place to be clean for the bathrooms to the beach, property and trails.

My daughter and I have been camping every year for a few days at Valens, it's close to home in case we forgot or need something. We are getting a hydro spot which is closer to amenities. From most spots, you need at least a bike to get around and to the beach. We usually drive the car there but... More
