A few days ago I "borrowed" a young family with three children to explore the Hamilton Children's Museum. What an unexpected TREAT. This innovative Montessori-style approach to learning, curiosity, and self-directed exploration is exactly what children of all ages need....including their parents. While the children...More

We took our 11 month old daughter here last weekend. She loved it! It was great for her age, kept her busy exploring for just over an hour. As an ECE though, I felt like materials and the rooms themselves could definitely be spruced up...More

Bizarre experience. This "museum" (not sure how they can use that word) is a rundown Victorian house with 3 shabby tiny rooms. The first was closed for a birthday party. The other two (living room size rooms) were half empty and had a box full...More

City of Hamilton- Are you kidding me? We paid the family rate of $9.00 and were in and out in 10 minutes. There is next to nothing to do there, and the place needs a good cleaning. I can't even begin to say how pathetic...More

While babysitting my grandchildren recently I decided to revisit the Children's Museum at Gage park. I must say that it did not hold my grandsons attention for long. In the past the "old kitchen " was place he would spend a long time playing in....More

After the recent repairs and refurbish of the children’s museum, the rooms are brighter, safer and some new elements like the ship’s bridge are a welcome addition. However, our best critics, namely our grandchildren very much miss the “Doo Wop Diner and Kitchen” with the...More

It is fun for say 5 and under. I have been a few times for free with the pass from the library I would not pay more then $2 to go here. I am not sure the actual cost.

Took my niece here last year because we confused it with the London Children's Museum, which I visted as a child and loved. Turns out it is nothing like it. Don't expect an actual museum - it is an old victorian house with 3 rooms...More
