We took the bus tour of the compound and were glad we did because of the information our driver provided. The variety of wildlife and their activities were thrilling - especially those crazy monkeys. We caught three included shows - parrots, hunting birds and the elephants. We are still talking about what we saw - amazing, all of it. The... More

Been meaning to go here for ages and finally got the chance. Pretty entertaining and great to be able to drive around and see all the animals. Went on a bit of an overcast day and they were all active running around and playing - would recommend that if you don't want to just see animals hiding in the shade!... More

We arrived just after opening so we got in right away. We hadn't realized there was a group rate for a carload (we were 3 adults & 1 senior) which was cheaper than individual tickets. The attraction is geared towards kids, and there were lots of them there. There is a waterpark which looked like it would be fun on... More

Took our 4 year old to African Lion Safari for the day. She thoroughly enjoyed it. We started with the Safari, which took a lot longer than we expected, but there are opportunity to bypass sections if you want. It was nice to see the animals up close. I often get uneasy at zoo due to small enclosures and lone... More

This place has a bit of everything for everyone. Also lots of places to get food and lots of animals to see! Even has some educational shows that are really neat. ALS showcases animals natural behaviours as opposed to making it look like a circus. Impressed.

We headed out late for our trip up the 401 from Chatham, Ontario to African Lion Safari. A combination of getting small children loaded up, and the obligatory stop at Tim Horton's before hitting the road contributed to the lateness. We usually like to get to an attraction when it opens and leave when it closes. This trip we arrived... More

We decided to get out of the city for the day and decided on African Lion Safari as our destination. It was a decision we did not regret. We drove through the animal enclosures in our own vehicle and were able to stop and take pictures at our own pace. The shows were well done and informative, and the displays... More

I'd been to African Lion Safari way back when my daughter was about five years old and went again now that she's a mother of two. I'm of mixed feelings on the whole thing. Like another reviewer, I didn't like to see the bullhooks with the elephants. For that matter, I didn't like to see the elephants just going around... More
