Went out with wife and another couple. The outing was a lovely stress-free wind-driven tour of Kempenfelt Bay with Phil at the helm. Having never been on a *sail* boat before, I had no idea what to expect, so when the boat was "heeling" and the "port" side was dragging the surface of the water at speed, with Phil skillfully reeling in ropes and masterfully managing the helm, it was unexpectedly exciting at times! I would recommend this outing for anyone of a similarly basic sailing experience. Captain Phil was Phabulous and my wife and I both enjoyed our first sailing experience in his skilled hands.
Notes: This is not a dinner cruise. This is a lovely stress-free 2hr sailing outing with a lovely captain on his 38 foot sailboat. If you want water to drink, bring it with you! Enjoy.

Captain Phil was a great host on the water. The sail was relaxing and the weather is finally starting to get warm. Great way to spend a couple hours on the water.

We were taking our boat out around the lake and we saw two people struggling in the water trying to get the sail boats attention. We approached them and they were exhausted, trying to get back to the sailboat. We helped them up onto our boat where they told us that the sailboat had anchored to let everyone swim but then left them there in the water. They were so exhausted they were starting to drown. Then we saw another person in the water a little ways away, suffering the same way. Once we had them on board as well we brought them back to the sailboat, none of us saw the captain at all. The people we rescued asked some of the others why they left and they didn’t seem to know. Glad everyone is ok but it could have took a very different turn.

The ride was peaceful and quiet and overall the boat is very well maintained and it was a beautiful day. Sadly since there was little wind the trip was sadly cut short by the captain which we weren't so happy about, as the payment was for full two hours..... if you book the ride make sure it's going to be windy or you won't get your money's worth.

It is rare not to have wind in Kempenfelt. Bay. I apologise we were in 15 min before the 2 hour time period i set aside for sailing due to running the engine Most often Im over 2 hours under sail . Difficult to be exact as its not a timed event , We did have a nice tour up the Bay and back Sorry again if you felt the fare was not earned.your family seemed to enjoy themselves.

My girlfriend and I went on the excursion and we truly enjoyed it -
Captain Phil was a fine host - you get to see both sides of Kempenfelt Bay and see the many big expensive homes on the shoreline - bring your binoculars

The only public boating excursion in Barrie, it is a great way to spend 2.5 hours on the water and available May - late October. Fall colour cruising is exceptional. Well worth the money if you have a beautiful sunny day but even inclement weather can be enjoyable too(cabin can be enclosed).Very peaceful. Having never sailed before this was wonderful to be out on the water, feel the wind in the sails and enjoy the afternoon or early evening. Captain Phil is a lot of fun and knowledgeable about what he does and feel safe in his experience on the water. Do as a group of 6 or as a couple and great idea for special celebrations. Will do again. Can only be booked online and pay by paypal.

I had a great time during the excursion. The lake is beautiful, water clean. One of the things you must to do in Barrie. It worth money you pay...
