The ferry between Halifax and Dartmouth runs frequently through the day and is very inexpensive. It is an excellent way to see Halifax from the water without breaking the bank and taking hours. The ferry is clean and runs on time. It was the highlight of our day and the children loved it after our harbour hopper tour was cancelled... More

It is so nice to take the ferry over and back, just to be out on a hot summer's day and to overlook the changing skyline. You can see the cranes, showing some of the recent changes, with more to come. If you take the ferry from Halifax to Dartmouth, when you pay, ask for a paper transfer and then... More

One can take a ferry across the river between Halifax and Dartmouth. The tickets for the ferry are sold right before you board the ferry. Discount if you are over 65. Very well organized. Nice ride not to long.

I like getting the ferry, as it can be a fun way to cross the water. the views are pretty, and it's reasonably priced.

I paid my $2.50 for a round trip visit to Dartmouth. It was a beautiful, blue sky day when everything glittered. So for those 10-12 minutes in each direction, I was at one with the sea and scenery. Yes, I did stop in Dartmouth for lunch outside at the Wooden Monkey. And yes, it prolonged the entire experience.

If you've been to Vancouver, then you know about the seabus. This is basically the same. $2.50 / person and ticket is valid for 2 hours. There are 2 ferries. We took the one from Alderney to the Halifax waterfront

Forget the high priced boat tours. Take the ferry to/from Halifax and Dartmouth for just $2.50. If you go within two hours you can use the pass to go back.
