This was a fun 1-hour tour that wove history of the brewery, the process of making beer, sampling beer, and some music. You start with two 2-ounce pours of two different beers, then end with one or two 5-ounce pours. This is for C$25.95 plus tax, which some consider a bit much, we did not. The staff are in period... One of my first stops in Halifax. Enjoyable tour with some interesting history. Cool too see the history in the building and to see what a difference the man made to Nova Scotia. Some of the rooms are a little small for the amount of people on the tour, but overall enjoyable with some good photo opportunities. Would recommend it.... More

I thought the brewery was a waste of time. I did not do the $24 tour and thought i could just get a few of their exclusive beer. Instead, you were encouraged to go to the bar attached to the place. When you go there you cannot buy a pint! Why not have some samplers of your exclusive beer like... More

The site itself was very pretty. the old building was restored with a courtyard shopping area. The tours were pricey as was the little gift shop.

I understand that there was a wedding but I had called previously to be sure that the one place a guest we were expecting wanted to go would be open to them. There was no way one to answer my questions and we were very frustrated.

We loved this tour. Lots of good beer and good music. Best brewery/wine tour we have had. Informative and fun. Didn't expect the local music in the cellar

The tour is about an hour and you learn a little about Alexander Keith, the brewery process both in North America and Canada. Many samples are provided of most of the beers made. the smaller limited release beers are brewed on site. The tour ends with a few Gaelic songs in a bar. The staff is dressed in costume pieces...
