We went right at the end of mid-day mass and were warmly welcomed by the priest. The interior is quite impressive and the parishioners are anxious to show you around.

This lovely old church sits in the center of old Halifax, a few blocks up from the waterfront and near hotels. We were all urged to introduce ourselves before Mass, since this church welcomes large numbers of visitors in the summer season. Sure enough, our neighbor's had a university connection in common, and we talked more with them afterward. The... More

We had a look in during an open-doors event this summer. There was a mass in progress so we didn't walk through the entire church. It was amazingly beautiful and interesting.

A beautiful old church in downtown Halifax. Excellent acoustics. Attended a large mass with a lovely choir. Would like to have more time to checked out the stained glass and art.

Made a point to visit St. Mary's Basilica, and attended mass there on a Sunday. The exterior of the church with its tall granite spire, was quite impressive. The interior was solemn and beautiful with its stained glass windows. The congregation seemed welcoming and friendly, and the choir sang beautifully. Well worth the visit.

This church is a National Historic Site of Canada and boasts the tallest granite spire (189 feet or 58 meters) in North America. It is the oldest Roman Catholic Church and first stone church in Halifax. It is definitely worth a visit to enjoy the quiet and look at the beautiful stained glass windows.

A beautiful historic sanctuary in the busy downtown, this gothic cathedral is home to a vibrant Roman Catholic congregation which welcomes visitors from near and far. An awe-inspiring sacred place which combines history with the present in the continuum of worship.

We always enjoy visiting churches when we travel. This one was particularly nice. The stained glass windows were just lovely. It was a very large space, bigger than the outside would suggest. An added benefit is that, on a hot day, the inside is a great respite form the heat!

The stained glass Stations of the Cross were well done and created a peaceful setting for a weary traveler. The church was very welcoming to all visitors!
